Glancing up, Abigail doesn’t return the smile. She realises she must look ghastly  ---  uncombed hair pulled back into a messy bun, dark eyes that look almost as tired as she feels. Still, he seems nice enough, her incessant fiddling seems to die down, some.

Willow would not like to think herself a rude or callous person, but sometimes the words just spill out of her mouth before she realizes the connotations. Almost immediately, she regrets saying what she did — you’re not actually supposed to say that to someone who has very clearly been through it.

❛    Don’t be, I’m sure you’re right.   ❜    Abigail flicks the ash at the end of her cigarette toward the pavement, well away from where the woman’s standing. She doesn’t look particularly offended, seems to shrug the words off with as little thought as Willow had put into saying them.
