let's go back home // yandere caleb x fem reader.
the door to your hotel room opens, and you immediately feel the domineering, less-than-happy, and intimidating presence of gege. you know it because it's the way there is an eerie sense of silence that envelopes around.
your cat, has anxious attachment... normally he would come down running, frolicking with his 'mreows' as he nuzzled against your feet. that was a ritual you were used to, a normal you were used to... but now? silence... deathly, uncomfortable silence.
your gut punch was the instantaneous reasoning that your head landed to, that is was infact gege. your cat loved him just as much, and loved sleeping around him. who else would possibly calm his anxiety? he loved caleb, all animals did.
or.... your house was robbed. but then, everything felt, somehow cleaner, crisper.
the only problem was... you had ghosted caleb. it had been a month since the incident and you weren't sure if you could recover easily. you were a hunter, strong and capable. but in front of the farspace fleet and the embodiment of the colonel who apparently thinks he isn't selfish when it comes to caging you in his own home. you were... helpless.
because your colleague had to take a sudden transfer away from linkon, your other, male colleague disappeared mysteriously... things were starting to click together in a way that you couldn't ignore anymore. your safety was associated with a man who would bathe in blood for sport if he even... thought, that something... or someone-- was harming his meimei.
you had once joked when he hand-fed you, your favorite braised chicken wings. "caleb... i think you are a yandere. don't you think so?"
"i am a meidere." he chirped, the softness of his voice hiding his blatant acceptance.
you swallowed thickly, the silence deafening, and decided to back away, feet stumbling backwards as you even calculated your breathing. cannot be too.. loud. no... no, you had to run.
the consequences of caleb... was like a rock tied to your ankle.
"good evening, pretty." he repeats. walking outside of 'your' bedroom. as if it was his. his gaze a brand. it burnt you.
"meimei. come here and hug me." there was no... childishness in his tone. it spoke of pure dominance and sheer boredom. like a cat playing with its food.
""hn-" a low, panicked whimper escaped from the deepest pits of your heart. caleb was terrifying right now. and your heart hammered like it would dive off your ribs. like your ribs were a cage. the room's air thickened.
"a month away from me, the least you can do is give, me, a hug." he walked closer, and you couldn't back away. stunned like a deer in front of headlights.
and you were pressed against him, his grip chokingly tight but not hurtful, never hurtful. that was part of the problem. caleb knew he could not hurt you; his soul would crack, and his heart would shatter. so... he hurts others. uses them as a punching bag and harms them, kills them... the last time you saw it happen when you were in the cafe, the waiter was smiling too brightly at you.
the next thing you knew when you returned from your restroom break was the sound of bone crushing under the weight of gravity, his muffled screams as caleb watched him shatter & explode by making the gravity around him null.
drenched in blood, wiping it off as if he just got done washing his face and is about to start skincare. you ran.
"come here mei mei, i made your favorite food." a wrist band snapped onto your wrist, you knew what it was. it would bring you back to him in the same monitoring way. your vitals, your location, everything about you was accessible to him. it locked in and caleb purred, delighted. "fun fact, this cannot be removed. you force me to do these things you know?" he pouted for you, faux sympathy.
"gege.. why are you doing this?" you sniffle out. carried inside to the dining table as the food prepped, as caleb sat you on his lap and blew at the steaming soup, dipping it in some rice.
you knew you were doomed, because when caleb avoided something, you knew that's what's bothering him the most. why wouldn't he be bothered though? his pretty little meimei abandoned him...... tried her best to hide for a month.
in the beginning, he did decide he would give you some time. that's what the two weeks were for! then you... you started to "settle" in? how dare you?
"we will talk when you're not panicking." is all he said, ever the caretaker, ever the little boy who raised you when he... himself was small. that's why it was so conflicting.
you love him and you are scared of him....
"its gonna be bad..." you mumble, regressing like a scolded toddler.
"yes." he said, kissing your forehead.
"or, you could promise you'd never do it again, and i would let it go." he beams fondly, raising his pinkie. watching you hesitantly wrap yours around his, swallowing thickly at what it meant. his mood swings felt like a whiplash you couldn't get out of.
"i love you. and in this world, no matter what i have to do, i will keep you safe." is all he said, watching you lose consciousness. the drug laced in your dinner helping.
time to go to skyhaven again meimei.
