a broken earth ( flashback ) || brendan & norman
balance-badgeâ:
The next few days passes by in blur. As much as he wants to search for his son, Norman was in no condition for strenuous activities, let alone a prolonged flight through the region of Hoenn.    âDad? Hello?â The connection is static-filled at best, likely due to his current height, but the device tells him the call has been answered. Thereâs a moment of silence, and â Brendan exhales audibly in relief.
   âHey! Hey, youâre okay, youâre...â His hand is shaking severely, and he clamps it down with the other. Donât you dare drop this, idiot. âIâm â Iâm okay.â He laughs in DISBELIEF, almost muffled by the wind. âI know, it... It was reckless. But I had to do something, people were...â Lips purse together as he chooses NOT to say dying. âPeople were scared.â

   âIâm near Slateport,â he answers, turning his head to ( hopefully ) lessen the noise of the wind. âOn Lanayru. She was too injured to fly this distance the first few days, but Iâm... Iâm heading to Littleroot. Are you and mom there? Is everyone okay? The damage to Sootopolis was immense, I... Please tell me everyoneâs okay.â
   Brendan makes no attempt to mask the concern and FEAR that cracks through his voice.
   âIâll be home soon. I can... I can tell you everything once Iâm there.â
