Notes

I am a Queer Person of Color writer. Any pronouns are fine for me. This is a slasher/horror page, but I will probably make a page for other fandoms.

So this will be a list of non-ghostface characters and what i think their motives could have been if they were ghostface. This will be from most to least likely:

Scream 1

Gale Weathers

So i put Gale as most likely… but i feel like she would have a pretty okay motive and she would totally be capable of it (In scream 1)

Motive: We know she is writing a book about Maureen Prescotts murder and about Cotton Weary being innocent. I think she could have been the killer because she wanted more attention around her book. Woodsboro isn’t huge, so if there was a mass murder right before her book release then her book sales would skyrocket and she would also get more popular.

Another possible motive: We know this isn’t true because of the other movies but if they made it so she was in love with Cotton and that was why she was so sure he was innocent? maybe she would go through with murdering Sidney and some of her friends to 1. get revenge for him and 2. create some distraction that could lead to him getting out as people might not be sure that he was the killer anymore.

Randy Meeks

I mean he even says he would be a likely suspect. He is a horror nerd. There are a million different reasons dude could have become ghostface.

Motive ideas? Well one motive could be because he wanted to create and live in his own horror movie.

Another possible motive could be that he was tired of Sid looking past him and tired of people not noticing him. He probably dealt with a bunch of bullying/teasing from Billy and Stu so him wanting them dead would make sense.

A final possible motive: He wanted to play hero for Sidney to get her to love him. This would be a chance for him to get rid of Billy and become someone more cool and “worthy” of Sidney. If he killed everyone but somehow made it seem like he saved her and they were sole survivors of some serial killer then he could get the girl.

Dewey Riley

So he’s third on this list. I guess I could see him as a possible Ghostface in scream 1. I feel like he would be far less likely than the other two above him.

Motive: He was tired of people treating him badly and like he was dumber than them. He decided he wanted to prove himself… except Woodsboro doesn’t get many chances for a police officer to solve big cases. So he creates his own huge murder case and finds someone to blame it on. He could make himself the hero in this and that would change how others see him.

Another Motive: This would rely heavily on the other ghostface in this scenario. I imagine Dewey is easy to manipulate given everything. And he would be valuable as he is a cop. So maybe he was manipulated into becoming ghostface by whoever his partner would be.

Tatum Riley

This is when it starts getting really difficult. I feel like you would need to change quite a bit to get Tatum to be the killer.

Motive?: Maybe she found out Stu was gay for Billy and decided to take it out on everyone in their friend group and Stu’s ex girlfriend? Maybe she would have planned on only leaving Stu and her alive so they would be sole survivors and so Stu would need her?

Another possible Motive: jealous over sidney. She was upset that Sidney got some form of fame after her mom’s murder and she decided she wanted to get fame too.

A Final possible motive: I mean she lives in a pretty misogynist time. She wants to prove girls can be dangerous too and that being a guy doesn’t mean you are always strong enough to fight off and survive a girl killer.

Sidney Prescott

I feel like she is just as likely as Tatum to be the killer.

Motive: Sidney went crazy after her mom’s murder. She decided to kill a bunch of her friends and people near her as a result of the murder.

Another Motive: Maybe she knew she saw Billy there killing her mom that night. And so she decided she would blame Cotton like Billy wanted, but she would get her revenge as she didn’t think prison was good enough revenge. She decides she must kill Billy and their friends in order to hurt Billy.

Casey Becker

I put her last on the list. I mean she dies first obviously so we don’t know much about her character. But I imagine if she was a killer she probably wouldn’t want to target some classmates she wasn’t that close to (minus Stu as he is her ex boyfriend ofc)

Motive?: I guess Stu would have had to have done something in their relationship to make her decide to kill him and a group of his friends. Maybe she found out he cheated on her, or she realized he was Gay for Billy?

Another possible motive: Maybe girl really just wanted to kill someone and decided that her exes friend group would be the right group of victims?

Billy & Stu with Nail Painting

Billy Loomis

Billys initial reaction would be to say no. His first thought would be that you are mocking him or making a weird joke by just asking if you could paint his nails.

He would definitely ask you why you want to paint his nails. He might even be a little offended that you think he would say yes, as he probably couldn't see himself with painted nails.

But if you are really someone Billy loves then I could see him giving in if you push a little or seem really sad about not being able to. You mean a lot more to him then he would ever openly want to admit.

Now he still would have rules for it. Like it would have to be red, black, or some cool horror design. And depending on his mood he might only let you paint his toenails and not his fingernails.

Billy would act annoyed the entire time, constantly making annoying comments and grumbling about it, even though a tiny part of him would be loving the attention and the intimacy of it.

Billy would NOT be showing it off at all. Not unless you are really talented and do an amazing horror design.

Stu Macher

Stu would immediately be down. He would be so hyped about this. The moment you suggest it he would probably throw his hands at you.

He thinks it's hilarious and adorable and a little bit punk. Stu has absolutely zero shame and loves the attention. So, if this means spending time with you and walking around with cool painted nails? he's in.

Now when you are actually painting his nails? Expect it to be messy. Stu is incapable of sitting still. He would probably mess up any design you are going for by moving too much and he would find a way to mess it up while its drying.

He wants skulls, stripes, hearts, maybe even one with your initials or your name. He would be wanting to show whatever you do off to everyone. Even if it sucks, he will still be showing everyone.

Both

Stu would still immediately say yes and want this. Billy would probably think he's good now since you are busy with Stu, but if you and Stu beg for him to join, he would give in. If you don't? He might sill join when he realizes how intimate it could feel and how much attention you are giving Stu while working on his nails.

Stu is hyped about it and would probably want you to find a way to match all your nails. Billy would still need it to be a lot blander that what Stu would want, but Stu would give in to whatever Billy wants pretty quickly. So, you are all definitely getting either plain black, plain red, or some horror design.

Billy is still pretending to hate it, but he secretly loves it. He loves the attention, the bonding, the intimacy, and he loves Stus idea of having matching nails for others to see.

Billy will probably help you with distracting Stu and keeping him as still as possible while you work on painting his nails or while its drying.

When it's all done and dry Stu is immediately showing it off. He is going up to strangers just to show them what you did and to mention you are all matching.

Billy still isn't actively showing them off. But he does constantly find himself looking at them and taking care of them to try and make sure they last a bit.
