Life doesn't reward apathy. I'm not sure where this new trend of "it's cool to not care and do the bare minimum" comes from, but if you aren't prepared to work your ass off and sacrifice for what you want in life, then you won't get far. There are too many people yelling excuses for why their lives aren't turning out the way they want them to and not enough people actually putting in the work to become who they want to become. It makes absolutely no sense to live a life that is the opposite of what you want, and then to disparage those who are doing exactly what they want to achieve their goals. Does it make you feel better to displace your self-loathing onto someone who has nothing to do with you? Don't get mad at the girl who has a great body, clear skin, and a flourishing career because you lack drive and discipline and are failing to do what's necessary to become the person you want to become.

Colorism is taught. Fathers talking about their desires for lightskinned women. Mothers telling their kids they’re too dark. Aunties telling you to not play outside because you’ll get (too) dark. It is taught.

The biggest mistake you can do is undercut your own ability,  straight from its source. You are your number one fan. You are the one person who should always one hundred percent believe in you most. If you can achieve that level of self-belief, self-confidence, self-attunement, then you will pass like a breeze through obstacles, ready to dust yourself off and try again; because the only limitations that have ever mattered or will ever matter are your own - and if you impose none on yourself, the universe is infinite.
