@lumpy-veev wrote some little scenes exploring the idea of Yi's lack of self preservation in the Don't Worry 'Bout It AU and I could not help myself. The dialogue for the comics was written by them. They posited him going out and nearly dying and having a "people still need me to live actually moment." I think they'd imagined it happening a bit later down the line, but I also really like the idea of it being a bit earlier. idk i can't decide.

Xihe is the mother of the ten suns that Hou Yi shoots down; Jun is her husband and the one that gave Hou Yi the bow and arrows he used to do it”

We were also talking about potential family names for Yi and Heng, and eventually settled on just using Hou because it’s fun wordplay
