Promise I'll be back soon,

Dramatic?

No. Not at all.

Hundreds of people in the same building making me feel nauseous and making me want to crawl out of my own skin, oral presentations in front of the whole class, mental health affecting my grades and worrying constantly about being a failure– Welcome to a day in a mentally effed up teenager.

Mental health is just a joke until you realize that it does, in fact, affect who you become in the future if you don’t have the propper support you need.

They don’t care.

They will see the bad grade and say that you’re lazy and that you didn’t work hard enough.

They will see all the absences and say, again, that it’s all laziness.

Of course, it’s harder for it to happen,

But it will eventually.

The thing is,

The untreated skin where the wound once was,

Is never going to be the same.

It will break more easily,

And it will take even longer to heal.

It will keep breaking over and over again until you decide to acknowledge that it needs treatment,

Until you acknowledge that it’s hurting you.

My first thought in the morning,

The first person that comes to mind when I’m watching the sunset.

You are the one I run to when things get rough,

When all my strength is gone and all I can do is crawl.

Crawl to you,

Always.

𝙱𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚔 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚏𝚒𝚡,

I’m stuck with you.

And if we don’t find our way back to each other,

Then I’ll look for you in every person I’m with,

And break my heart over and over again,

because I’ll never find in another what I once had with you.

I don’t regret us,

I don’t regret you.

I regret the things I never said.

The times when I gave up on you when I should’ve done the opposite.

I regret not saying how pretty I thought you were,

I regret not telling you about every dream I had about you.

I regret not telling you how I planned our future house,

How everything was like you wanted it to be.

In the mountains, old-style,

A little kid and a little dog.

I regret not telling you how much I missed you while I had the chance to.

I regret running off with someone else just to replace you,

Only to realize that no one will ever be you.
