(for fic related reasons) what positions do we think the girls play
OH you bet i do anon, if you're planning a volleyball fic please tag me or shout at me in my inbox, i would love to be there, okay so:
yeji - opposite hitter and captain
speaks for itself doesn't it? the powerhouse of the team, both an offense cannon and defense god, she does everything, plus she's steady enough emotionally to be the captain
lia - libero
now this isn't just because she's the shortest among them, but i think she'd actually find that position more fun. to me, she is the heart of the team even though yeji's the backbone. without their libero there's no game to play, plus i think having a single thing for her to specialize in can make her a surprise threat if the other team choose to overlook her. also the thought of her pulling off a surprise set from the back row makes me so happy lmao
ryujin - setter
the brains of the operation. ryujin has always given me the perception that she's five steps ahead at all times. and with chaeryeong and yeji being the main cannons (and yuna!), her options are great. i think she wouldn't shy away from making creative plays, fake outs and the occasional setter dump. i could see her taking a ton of pride watching chaerji hit a crisp shot that she tossed to them
chaeryeong - outside hitter
an offense demon, blocks do not scare her and she has the crispest line shots ever. her and yeji make for a scary offense presence on the court. her and ryujin would absolutely bank a ton of points off of quicks, that 01z telepathy if you will. and of course the blocks she forms with yuna are equally a threat
yuna - middle blocker
once again, speaks for itself, she's the tallest and quick on her feet. while i think she'd have a real instinct and knack for reading plays, she's overall a pretty disciplined player. and of course a little sprinkle of middle blocker and libero here, her blocks help limit the options the opponent has to spike and she knows her libero is there to pick the ball up
and well we're missing a player to round out to 6 starters and technically 7 since lia is a libero, preferably an outside hitter and middle blocker to balance it all out, but also depends on what you're thinking anon!
it could change whether a 5-1 or 6-2 system is chosen with either ryu being the main setter or changing it up so there's two setters on the court, a lot to consider and a ton of fun!
