A/N - technically this is an old post, but it was on a blog that I deleted (punk-quisps, if you've previously happened upon this), so I decided to upload it here

Dean Winchester looks like a pit bull

(“Fuck’s that supposed to mean?” He narrows his eyes at you through Baby’s rearview mirror. “And get your shoes off the leather, you heathen.”

You roll your eyes but oblige, dropping your feet back to the floor behind Dean’s seat. “I just mean, cuz you’re loyal, and you’re a fighter, but you’ve got a sweet spot, y’know? Like a pit bull.”

You hear Sam snort from the passenger seat. “Yeah, Dean. Like a pit bull.”

Dean reaches across and whacks the back of Sam’s head. “Shut up, Sammy.”)

Dean Winchester sounds like a lightning storm, sharp and loud, and sometimes quiet, but always so, so bright

(You sit quietly on the edge of the motel bed, watching Dean clean the guns. Sam types quietly on his laptop behind you. The rain taps against the window.

You always liked thunderstorms. You think you might like them more, now.

They remind you of Dean’s voice, deep and steady, like wind and rain.)

Dean Winchester smells like worn leather and apple slices

(He says you smell like cinnamon.

You laugh and tell him, “I guess that makes the two of us apple pie, right?”

He practically drools at the statement and it only makes you laugh harder.)

Dean Winchester tastes earthy and metallic

(In hindsight, it was probably not the best idea to kiss him right after the hunt before either of you have showered, but oh well. 

Dean’s black eye and your split lip are just part of the charm, right?)

Dean Winchester feels like a home, warm and reliable

(Sunlight streams in through the parts of the window the shitty motel curtains don’t cover. You blink awake. It takes you a moment to register the body in front of you, but when you do, you can’t help but smile. 

Dean is so, so warm. 

You can’t resist snuggling in closer, even though you know you’ll have to be up and back on the road again soon. 

Though you may not stay in one place for very long, you know you’re never far from home.)
