It’s tough enough to get through the day while keeping up as much of the old Jamie as he possibly can before he’s just ready to collapse into bed and sleep for twelve hours. He just needs everyone to see that he’s okay. Maybe somewhere deep down he thinks if they believe it, he’ll start believing it. Maybe he just wants to be left alone. He doesn’t really know anymore.

“Did you think you were the only person who thought Marbella was a good holiday spot?” Jamie grins. “Nah, I talked to Keeley. She said she dumped you and thought you might need company after I asked her where I should go.” or, jamie and roy fall in love in marbella, get married, split up, and figure out their shit.

Jamie’s been sitting in the BA lounge for half an hour when he starts to wonder if it’s all a stupid idea. Keeley’s, of course. Jamie had no part in it other than nodding and agreeing that yes, a few weeks of Spanish sun would do him well, and no, no he wouldn’t have to see Roy all that much because the villa’s huge, and okay he’ll let Keeley sort it all out for him, maybe if he could just flick Roy a wee text when he gets there that would be great, yeah? Roy gets some company for the summer. Insert shocked Pikachu.

When Keeley breaks up with Roy after his spontaneous plans to whisk her away to Marbella for the summer, he makes the trip by himself, intent on forgetting about the break up as best he can through as much booze, tapas, and sunshine as one person can manage during one miserable summer. The last thing he expects is for his car to break down during a road trip up the Spanish coast, where he finds none other than Jamie fucking Tartt - who fell off the face of the Earth after his stint on Lust Conquers All - working in a seaside bar. Post-season 2 AU where, after getting kicked off of Lust Conquers All, Jamie decides not to return to England or football.

I’ve been trying to find a specific fic to no success and thought I’d ask. I’m pretty sure it’s a series of mostly one-shots on A03 where Roy and Jamie hook up at the gala season one and then keep dating in secret once Jamie gets sent back to Manchester. Later on in the series when they’re both working for Richmond again and secretly engaged they decide to tell the team. Jamie tells Rebecca and Higgins first. Roy crashes the meeting and eventually they tell the team they’re together and engaged. Any idea what fic series this is?

Hello. I'm sorry for the delay. I am 99% sure I've gone through every single fanfic set in season 1 and I simply cannot find this one. I've recruited friends to help me but they can't find it either. I think it's very likely this fic has either been deleted or that maybe you're misremembering something? I really can't find any fanfic where they get together during season 1 that also has the engagement scene you described. Are there any other details you can remember that I could use to comb through AO3 again? The rating, a specific sentence or expression, roughly how long ago you read it? If you remember anything else, please send it and I'll try again.

Hello! Fair question to ask. The plan originally was to post once every weekend, with the exception of the first one with two posts. Obviously, that hasn't been the case because real life is chaotic. But that is still the goal, to update on the weekends. Hopefully, it'll be achieved more often than not.

“Name’s Jamie Tartt, mate.” And there’s something about the way his eyebrows arch, the way his smile changes, slants at the corners with arrogance like he thinks he’s doing Roy a favor introducing himself — “I’m your new executive sous.” He’s dropped his hand now, and Roy half-wishes he’d taken it while he had the chance, because now they’re just standing there, sizing each other up in some demented, testosterone-fueled parody of a staring contest, and it’s horribly awkward. Roy grunts. “That’s weird, because I think I’d remember it if I hired a fucking thrift store mannequin to work in my restaurant.”

He’s about to get into the driver’s seat when another flash goes off right in his face and some smirky fucker says, “So, you like taking it up the ass?” “Love it,” Jamie’s mouth says before Jamie’s brain can get in on the action. “Feels fucking great. Have a good day!” Or: the post-Season 1 fic where, Instead of self-destruction via reality show, Jamie tries self-destruction via public and very messy coming out. It works out better than expected.

There’s a part of Jamie that’s still thirteen and awestruck, or seventeen and infatuated, or twenty-two and bitter and still fucking obsessed, that still can’t believe he lives in a world where he gets to have stuff like Roy Kent inviting him over for tea. Can’t quite believe this is his life. Jamie’s summer, and beyond.

It wasn't necessarily a nice kiss, but it was a pretty fucking great kiss, in Roy's estimation. Jamie bids on and wins Roy during the For the Children Gala.

There's a new striker coming in on loan from Man City and that's the beginning, middle, and fucking end of Roy's problems. Or—Roy Kent goes slowly mad because Jamie fucking Tartt is a prick.

Roy threw his duffle bag on the bed Jamie didn’t claim, his temples already throbbing. Yeah, they managed to get through one conversation at some fucking party without killing each other, that didn’t mean they should be fucking roommates. Would it do any good to march himself down to Lasso’s door and demand an explanation and a room change? He thought about Ted placid face, his firm but pleasant smile and realized no, Ted got off on this bullshit.

Jamie is truly a fucking enigma. Last night he’d shown up to Roy’s looking like he just needed anyone to be there for him, with no explanation. Today he’s just acting like a fucking twat again, and he’s honestly confusing and messy and Roy doesn’t need it. Jamie is a 23 year old twat, and Roy is way too fucking old for this.

Hi! The fic you're talking about seems to be "Mattresses, Pillows" (and the sequel "Passing Karma") by sycamores. Unfortunately, it seems like it's been deleted. I couldn't find the writer's tumblr or twitter, so I have no idea why it was deleted or if it'll ever be re-uploaded. If anyone who reads this knows more, please share.

RoyJamie Recomendations — Hurt/Comfort (Part 1)

When they finally get together, Jamie keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop, for Roy to lose his temper with him. Jamie's father and some angry exes have laid the groundwork for disaster, but Roy is nothing like the other angry men Jamie has known before.

Roy wakes up with a splitting headache and a few years of memories missing, which is bad enough. Worse is that everyone is withholding information from him because they're all loyal to Future Roy. All that means is that Present Roy is getting fed up not knowing who it is that he's dating and why it is no one will just tell him.

It's snowing in Newcastle, and Jamie's Man City ankle injury already hurts before he hits the pitch. Or: all things must come to an end, eventually.

The energy of the room shifts suddenly as Jamie’s eyes widen. It’s as though he’s just waking up, looking around quickly to get his bearings straight- as if he doesn’t remember coming to Roy’s house at all. Maybe he doesn’t. When his startled expression finally lands on Roy just off to the side, Jamie’s eyebrows raise even though his shoulders relax. He looks down at the bath again. “What’s this?” Jamie asks as he combs a hand through the beer head of bubbles on top of the water. “A bubble bath,” Roy says gruffly. He stares straight forward at the open-faced cabinet in front of him that has piles of fresh black towels on each shelf. A pause. “You put me in a bubble bath?” or the one where roy and jamie have a run in with tarrt senior and roy has no idea what he's doing even though he's trying really hard

“Sorry,” Sounds more like sorreh, “can you uh, stitch me back up again?” Roy can now see the large gash across his stomach and the cut on his jaw. He hisses through his teeth and winces in solidarity with the man. Roy just stares at him. Spiderman cocks his head and puts a hand on his hip as if to say well? “Yeah yeah, come on then.” Spiderman trails after him, thankfully not dripping blood on the wood floors. Though Roy thinks he wouldn’t mind cleaning up the mess. “Spidertwat.” Spiderman laughs at that. another 5+1: 5 times Roy patches up Spiderman and the 1 time he patches up Jamie (Or the one where Jamie is Spiderman and he keeps showing up hurt.)

Roy has always respected hard work. So it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise, him noticing Jamie more and more. But fuck, Roy is forty years old. He should be too old for this. Too old to fall for some 25 year old pretty haired, lad culture reject, fucking fit bloody fantastically talented twat with a heart of fucking gold who wears it on his sleeve. A man.
