THEN you can see him trying to change and understand it’s not just like flipping a switch, it’s unlearning all his old, selfish behaviors and desperately trying to become better and learn to be human again.
I’ve spent so long destroying myself because I don’t feel like I deserve happiness that now I don’t know how to stop it. I want to learn how to let little good things affect me as much as I let any negative thing affect me. I’m just learning this information, and don’t know what to do with it, so might as well throw it out there.

We’re almost halfway there
Halfway through the year and it’s been such a roller coaster. I’ve dealt with death, lost love, rekindled friendship, and so much joy...but so much sorrow.
God I’ve never had my heart broken this badly and it sucks that it’s in such a way that I can’t fix it. Every time I think I’m moving past it, my brain puts another scrap of hope in my mind. I don’t even know how I’m living anymore. I’ve fought for so many years but it takes so much out of me. When am I going to run out of energy to spare?
So I’m working on something big.
Y’all like soulmate AU’s, right? Well I’m writing a book about one. Not fanfiction, characters of my own creation. I’m already a bit in, and there’s already angst, drinking, dancing, and some very unstructured writing. What I wish I could say without sounding desperate for attention
I disappeared off the grid for a few days, just because I was tired of always being the one to reach out. Nobody even seemed to notice. If I vanished, it wouldn't really inconvenience anyone. It'd be easy to find a better replacement. Someone who works right, instead of being a cobbled together, barely functioning mess. Nobody has to worry about that weirdo trying to awkwardly make friends. It's okay. I'm not mad, I know it's true. I'm used to it. I need to stop thinking it'll be different, that I can change.
