Tuesday Nights at Mamalo’s

Every Tuesday night we stay at Mamalo and Papalo's house because I have meetings on Tuesdays and someone needs to stay with you in case you wake up in the middle of the night. As usual our big, strong Daddy drove us to Mamalo's house before he went to work. He always takes care of us like that.

You won't remember this, but on the car ride to Mamalo's house, we kept laughing. You kept making faces and giving me the side eye glance to see if I was watching. You are such a ham. JUst like daddy.

I lost my patience today, I'm sorry Thiago. I was just tired. It's been a long day, the list of chores never seems to end, I received some disappointing news and.. I was just tired. And you just wanted to play with Mommy. But I finally lost it.. when you said, "Mommy come here mommy" again this evening. I finally stopped and exclaimed "Thiago, please!" and went to the room. I just needed a break. I needed to rest.

But my dear sweet Thiago, of course you came in and checked on Mommy. "What's wrong mommy? What's wrong?" And when I told you I needed to rest you left me alone for a few minutes. When I got up, you came back in...

"Don't be angry, Mommy. Like this. <copies the hulk, with an angry face> Be happy. Like this <puffs up cheeks and then smiles widely>. I'm sorry Mommy"

Thank you for that pep talk, Thiago. I'll remember that forever.

The Birth

Dear Thiago, It was around this time a year ago they were wheeling me into the operating room, sleepless and clad in a nightgown and red fluffy slippers. While your Daddy and Ninang Tin waited nervously in the hall, and Papalo waited in the hospital room, watching ANC as usual. That tv would be set to ANC the entire day as Papalo watched over us..and the entire Senate hearing on the Pork Barrel Scandal...
