Anyone else get catalyzed to leftist ideology and realize that everything you were taught in school is deeply warped and corrupted from the capitalist-imperialist perspective?

Going through that rn. Crazy shit. I was a "gifted and talented" kid so I did all that I could to absorb and internalize what I was learning. And now... Well.

I hear a perspective about the USSR or China being actually not terrible places. And the indoctrinated, propagandized pit in my cranium starts to freak the hell out because for the past 21 years of my life I've been told that they were both these horrible places to live that routinely violated human rights.

The crazy thing is, they did do that. Sometimes. However, for some reason, I still can't fathom, the US does that all the time and worse.

I'm trying to work through this as much as possible. But gods damnit. Working against your own cognition is a fucking challenge.
