I read the most recent chapter of NEW ACHIEVEMENT! And They Were Roommates by eclectillector yesterday and couldnāt get this idea of how Mordecai and Donut could find out about Carl being in the fighting pit out of my head and had to sketch some.
Iām not really good with expressions so Carlās expressions arenāt where I want them, but I think I did pretty good with Mordecai and Donut! Itās taken me a while to figure out how I would like to draw Skyfowl so this is my first real non anatomy drawing of Mordecai. But Iām pretty happy with how he came out! Now I just have to figure out the talons and wings since NA!ATWR skyfowl are a little different.
I like the idea of Carl looking at the camera with this just blank, a mix of almost āyou will not break meā subtly mad and kind of sad āthis is all Iām good forā like ptsd flashback, kinda of expression. And the first time Mordecai and Donut see him on screen heās, trying to be subtle but itās very obviously to them, tense cause people keep touching him and he really doesnāt want to be there.
I also kinda wanted to draw Mordecai and Donut arriving to find Carl a bit tense with Maizze on his shoulder with her tail around his neck like she always does, and draw the wrong conclusion and just start going off. Iāve had this though since chapter 15, cause itās such a great way to visually show how trapping this all must be for Carl. Annnnd cause I wanna see Mordecai and Donut defend their boy and Carl getting shocked seeing people caring for him! But Iām not that fast and had other stuff to do.
Anyway I hope yaāll like these, and I canāt wait for the next chapter!
