A glimpse into where I’m heading.

The first Rosethorns collection is growing out of the dark. Rooted in poisonous plants, tangled in toxic love, and stitched with survival. 🌺💀

It won’t bloom until spring.

I’ve still got silhouettes to test, toiles to tweak, fabric to source, and samples to sew.

Realistically? That puts me deep in winter and if I want to shoot it right, I’ll wait for the light of spring to do it justice.

So this is me planting the seed.

You’ll see every stage: the trials, the tweaks, the transformation.

Last day in Northumberland 🏰💨

Our final day was a good one despite the wind being absolutely out of control. I’ve got a bit of a love-hate relationship with weather like that. Part of me enjoys the drama of it all, but not when I’ve done my hair and just want to look at castles like a civilised person!

We were meant to visit Alnwick Castle, but dogs aren’t allowed, so we changed plans and went to Bamburgh 🏰 instead. Honestly, it worked out. It was insanely windy up at the top, but we went inside to explore and they even had a little dog-sitting service so Brock was looked after while we had a proper wander.

There was a The Last Kingdom exhibition on, with some of the actual costumes and props from the show, which was a nice surprise. I always like to imagine what life would’ve been like in those places, but I got way too into it when we reached the dungeons. It was pitch black, I ended up on my own for a bit, and not gonna lie... I freaked myself out a little 😅

The main reason I wanted to visit Northumberland was to finally see Lindisfarne. We had to wait a while for the tide to change before we could cross, and by the time we got there, everything had shut so we didn’t get to go inside the castle or the priory. The wind didn’t help either, so we found shelter in a cosy pub and had a really good meal with freshly caught fish.

The Summer Solstice marks a turning point, a moment of peak light before the slow return to shadow. It feels like the perfect time to honour transformation, duality, and everything that grows wild in the dark.

This new era of Rosethorns is where I finally get to explore my dark feminine side through fashion and actually own it. I’m really looking forward to creating moodboards and themed collections that go beyond surface-level beauty and tap into something deeper.

A lot of what I plan to create is shaped by my own battles with darkness and survival, but I hope it resonates with you too. Think florals, but make them deadly! 💀🌺

To me, dark femininity isn’t about being fragile. It’s about the strength that comes from everything you’ve had to hold in or get through.

It’s not just softness, it’s defiance. Choosing to stay tender even when the world tries to harden you. That, to me, is real resilience.

A peek inside my freshly set-up studio, aka the heart of Rosethorns.

So… who am I and what’s this all about?

I’m Hannah, and I started sewing during pregnancy. What began as a hobby turned into something so much deeper: a way to reclaim myself, tell my story, and create the kind of pieces I could never find in stores.

Rosethorns was never meant to be just cute clothes. It’s about soft rebellion, emotional storytelling, and dressing like the version of yourself that’s survived some shit and bloomed anyway.

I’m still learning. Still evolving. But I’m finally ready to start sharing what I’ve always dreamed of creating. And I’m so glad you’re here at the beginning of this next chapter.

Right now, I’m learning corsetry and pattern drafting, because I want to build pieces that mean something. Dark, ethereal, romantic stuff. Poisonous princess energy. Femme alchemy. You get the vibe.
