𝐈𝐓'𝐒 𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐆𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐒 walk of shame . his messy hair , half-tucked & unbuttoned shirt , tired brown eyes , a hickey on his neck , tie shoved into his pants' left pocket & unsteady composure . everything screamed walk of shame , especially his shame . it had been a casual encounter , like the many it happened before - a heinously fleeting sex with his physiotherapist . he regrets the moment it’s over , but keeps coming back for more . that night was no different . well , up to the moment that he bumps into someone . ❛ hey , i’m so sorry ! ❜ he’ll say , gazing down the tiny frame , quickly recognising the person in front of him : his ex-fiancé . ❛ rosie ? i ——— i … ❜ stuttering again ? wasn't that supposed to be gone by now ? ❛ it’s , uh ——— how are you ? ❜

class after class of how exercise is good for you in more ways than one can imagine had really changed the way she handled stress. years ago she would have taken a bubble bath and drank cheap wine. now she went on runs. it was a much better method of keeping her mind occupied than thinking about how miserable she was, but while intoxicated. rosie’s run had turn to more into a leisurely job ( she had already been running for what felt like ages ) and she half expected the bump to be from some sleazy man, as it was usually. attempting to hide her shock would be futile; she read like an open book written in bold. the familiar pang of guilt rose in her stomach as she tried to smile, although it may have come out as a grimace. “hi,” she said, the sentence she had been trying to form stuck on her lips. “good, good. busy, but good,” that was a lie. she had been nothing short of a mess but she was determined to save face for once. “how have you been? is everything going okay?” there was an urge to ask about the ever present hickey on his neck, where he had came from, had he really moved on that quickly. it wasn't her business anymore so she bit her tongue and held back the remarks she desperately wanted to make, hoping they would make small talk and she could be on her way to drink the wine she had been saving for a bad day.
