chunji & byeolri,
there's a community nestled inside seoul that is rumoured to be the home of modern day witches. these rumours varied on the details and usually depended on the tongue it comes from whether or not it's more than a rumour or simply just that. despite the conflicting tales and opinions, byeolri was set to find out for himself because on that small chance he finds himself face to face with a witch - or really anyone in touch with any kind of magics - they could very well be the source to set him and his fellow faes free from their confinement on earth.
the green fae found himself wondering through the streets, visiting shops and public places alike with the hope that something will turn into a lead. it's when his eyes catch sight of a voodoo shop that his faltering faith is given a second breath of life. upon entering there's a wave of confidence coming over him as the contents inside gave the impression this was more than just your simple knick knack store. this has to be the closest thing to home he's come across since he awoke on earth with a life he hasn't lived but felt all too real. he's fully engaged with the crystals set upon a shelf close to the front. they look just like the ones he sees all over social media yet there is something about the way he feels when he picks one up. could it be deja vu? has his memory not fully recovered from the mind games played by the trick of a dark spell?
inside the very same shop and tucked away in the back office is the community's most controversial young man, chunji. he'd heard the tiny bell ring above the door as its hit twice but being so focused on his task at hand he allows himself a minute or two to complete the line he was typing up before he goes to greet the customer. when the time comes, chunji meets the blonde man by one of the shelving units standing tall in the room, interrupting his shopping with smile and a welcoming voice. " is there anything i can help you with? "
new faces were always a tough one for the store associate. many of the customers he comes across that he doesn't know already walk into the shop seeing it as only a wonderland for those who enjoy witchy themed things, the perfect store for halloween decorations and spooky parties alike. the regular customers however know that every item in there has a purpose that is so much more than a decoration to create a scene. these customers are fellow witches, as chunji himself is a witch bound to an ancestral link that he's responsible for relinking to the community witches in his late teen years. in order to keep their magic safe chunji would never openly speak of it to just anyone. there's been far to much pain for all the witches for him to allow something, or someone, to start the cycle all over again.
" do you sell fairy dust? " byeolri is quite quick to the point. his reason for asking such of the employee before him is that if the answer happens to be yes and the product is provided, no one would know whether it was real or not more than a fae. after a short moment of thinking, chunji hums to himself whilst his feet already begin taking him off into an isle a little further into the store. up on the shelf he can see a single small bottle of fairy dust among a few fake ones. the dust would be too dangerous in the hands of an oblivious citizen so his fingers end up taking hold of a placebo instead. " here you go. sorry we don't have any other colours, short on stock. "
byeolri was only one step behind chunji so when the dark haired man stops in front of a shelf his eyes follow to examine what is on it as well. luckily he did but his sight lands upon the very thing he's been missing the most - fairy dust. to many the bottles may all look the same but no fae could ever mix the two up so when a fake one is handed to him he knows there is a secret being held here. " actually... " he reaches in front of chunji to snatch up the authentic one. " ...this one looks much better. " he examines it a bit as any customer would when they're purchasing something. when his eyes do lift and lock gazes with chunji he decides he's going to try and trap him into spilling the truth about this shop. " wouldn't you agree it seems more, i don't know, real? "
