“You — you’re always welcome to peek at my notes, Rose,” she said. “But these are for Charms; I don’t take DADA. Wish I did, though, with all this going on.” Wendy shrugged a little, mind flashing to all the death for a moment. “Maybe you can ask Alice? I know she’s always on top of her notes, even now. Or I could help another way?”

“Yes, of course you can! I pride myself on making my notes clear and to the point,” Charity stated, collecting a few pieces of parchment together before handing them over to Rosemary.

       sirius takes a moment to wonder who’s decided it’s a GOOD TIME to interrupt his daydreaming ( although he will NEVER admit it ) while staring outside the window in the library before he returns to the real world & turns his attention to rosemary. “ dada is EASY, how could one not pass it ? ” he asks instead of answering her question, tilting his head slightly to the side as he watches her.

Looking up from her own coursework that had been piling up, Lily gave Rosemary an absent smile, before going back to sort through her notes. “That’s nice of you to say, I do work hard to make them look PRISTINE, so I appreciate that immensely,” Lily commented, finally pulling up her notes. “Aha! Found them. You know Rose, I can always tutor you if you’d like? At least, know you’re always welcome to my notes. I don’t know what they were teaching you at your old school, but obviously it wasn’t enough.”

Glancing up, Evan nearly grimaced, ready to dismiss her without a second thought until he realized that they had a small audience, namely some of his housemates practically salivating in wait. So he gave them the show they wanted, flashing a wicked grin and leaning back with the notes in hand and out of her reach, “What’re you going to give me for them?”

Rosemary felt her face flush in frustration as she gave herself a swift mental kick for feeling desperate enough to ask someone that could so easily humiliate her. Boys were cruel. That was the first thing her mama taught her, that any woman taught her. All of her previous experience had been with the boys in church from her home town, and the very rare times their school mixed with the boys, and all of those experiences had left her feeling torn down. Virginia was a different world than London, and Chapel Field South was a different universe than Hogwarts. “I, uhm...” Her voice dropped as she met the eyes of his classmates, and she felt that all too familiar lump forming in her throat. “I have some...” What’re they called Rose, you know this-- told herself, before sitting on her hands awkwardly. “I have some knuts I could-- maybe a few sickles.”

Deimos feigns indifference, having practised his look of faux sympathy since he was young - it was a must for a young pureblood boy, even when he wasn’t to be faking his emotions in the small circle of pureblood families which remained true. “It’s such a shame, what’s happened,” He averts his eyes from the person next to him, staring down into his cauldron, masking the deep seated joy. “Could you pass the Howlet’s Wing?”

Rosemary found her eyes flitting up towards the boy as he spoke, and felt herself stiffen. Carter was a Slytherin, and from what Rosemary had learned in her few short years at Hogwarts was that Slytherin’s came from the oldest wizarding lines that still existed. The only thing that scared her more of that unknown world, was the fact that her sister was finding herself to intricately interlaced with them. They don’t even know who she is. She thought to herself quickly, before handing the Howlets Wing to the boy blindly. “I just couldn’t imagine havin’ my family ripped in apart like that.” 

“I wonder if we’re still goin’ to the Quidditch World Cup. I was really looking forward to it.”

“Carter.” Rosemary hissed in a hushed tone. “It ain’t safe to go to that anyways. We need to stay here, and offer some support to those that need it. The last thing they’re probably thinking of is some silly game.”

“What the Hell is going on in the world?” Charity sighed, tossing the Daily Prophet to one side. “How am I going to look these students in the eye?”

“Well, yeah, sure, but I mean… what’s the worst that could happen?” Considering the sugar quills she was currently experimentally dousing in various amounts of firewhiskey as she spoke, probably a fair bit, but she chose to ignore that, instead testing different binding spells on each sugar quill.

“Well...” Rosemary began to speak, but cut herself short after meeting Marlene’s gaze. Surely this girl had enough experience to know what she was doing, but Rose’s mind was stuck on the question she had asked. “You could get drunk.” She spoke softly, feeling the weight of the silliness behind her words. Marlene surely knew that. “And like, fall. Or... make bad choices...”
