“Carter.” Rosemary hissed in a hushed tone. “It ain’t safe to go to that anyways. We need to stay here, and offer some support to those that need it. The last thing they’re probably thinking of is some silly game.”

“Rosemary,” Carter hissed back, her tone loud as she gave her sister a devilish grin. “Just the reason they need to be out there at some silly game. C’mon. It ain’t safe to go ANYWHERE nowadays. I’d rather say I died at the Quidditch World Cup than at Hogwarts.”

“I seriously doubt it. It’s too new, though it may be postponed?”

“Postponed again? For the second time this year? Merlin, I feel sorry for the people who’re plannin’ it. I hope they find Dumbledore and throw his ass in Azkaban.”

“Of course you were, but I bet you just wanted to go see all the famous hot quidditch players.”

“And don’t you forget it, Amycus. It’s like you read my damn mind, you must be doin’ some leglimency. Or is it occlumency? Maybe you’ve just evolved. It’s HOT.”

“Same. I don’t see why we should be punished; not like we’ve done anything wrong,” Hiro replied, shrugging his shoulders.

“If McGonagall decides to cancel it because some people are … well, let’s just say, too fragile, I’ll be making SURE that I can go either way and sit with my father. He has better seats, either way. You could join me.”

Carter gave Lucius a big smile at the idea of being able to join him at the Quidditch World Cup, “I’d LOVE to join you no matter what, Lucius, thank you. It sure does show lack of ... strength to try to cancel somethin’ like this for the entire group. I just think it would be such a treat for so many people who aren’t able to go if the school wasn’t offerin’ it to them. I hope you and your family are doing well and untouched by the recent events.”

“–Just because all this is happening at school doesn’t mean it concerns the whole world. Just being realistic…it’s totally messed up but like canceling the World Cup for something like this out of the question. People only care about things that directly affect them…and this most certainly only involves a special few.”

“Oooo, Miss Emma Vanity, as usual, with common sense. Which, is not all that common. I completely agree with you, though some might say it’d be wise t’cancel the whole thing “ in light of recent events” I think it’s also be even more ... SAD to cancel it. I’m guessin’ you’re excited?”

“ I get the feeling we … might? just given the ratio of grieving students to mildly sympathetic students. our fearless headmistress strikes me as pragmatic, that way. “

“That’s a good point, I will say, I do like her as Headmistress more than Dumbledore. Dumbledore was like this real life wax figure statue sorta dude that had a real loud voice. Minerva actually seems like she gives a shit. She’s FEARLESS too. I hope she doesn’t die or get exposed as also havin’ an underground drug ring.”

“I’d expect so – such a travesty calls for something good to happen, if it’s going to give us a little reprieve.”

“Travesty,” Carter repeated, rolling her eyes at Deimos as she tried not to laugh. Some of her housemates had no tact and she found it AMUSING. “You’re right though, you are. It would be cruel to take it away from us now. We could cause a riot if they decide to.”

Amycus definitely felt better standing to the side and observing while getting quietly drunk but tonight there was something a little stronger in the drinks and so he decided that he wanted to talk to people. “Hey! How you doing? Is the room spinning or is it just me?”

“Amy, Amy, I thought you could hold your liquor?” Carter smiled as she strolled over to him. She had a system in place to avoid a hangover along with an extraordinarily high tolerance  -- but her favorite insurance policy was the dime bag in her pocket. “I’m doin’ good, the parties’ not bad and the company could be worse. And YOU? Besides feelin’ like the room’s spinning.”
