I wish more actors paid attention to politics
Hey so I've been doomscrolling . ..
I don't use insta like at all but I decided to randomly just look up actors/actresses see what they're doing.
Tell me why anne hathaway, tammanah bhatia, maitreyi ramakrishnan, DQ Salman, regina cassandra and Samantha Prabhu-are following Sydeny Sweeney!
Look I'm not parasocial about celebrities I know we don't know who they are behind closed doors but oh this was disappointing.
I mean maybe they're not well informed on controversies? Or just followed her because they like Euphoria?
That tracks for Samantha, and Tammanah because they follow Zendaya the most notable star but tell my DQ Salman and regina cassandra aren't following Zendaya?
Okay well I don't expect much from Regina cassandra I think I only followed her because of Subramanyam for Sale and I do not pay attention to Indian actors/actresses excluding their films (Don't watch press meets, events, nothing).
But DQ Salman? You follow Sydney Sweeney but not Zendaya? Like she wouldn't even like you!
I've begun to realize that Insta is also another Hellscape but at least twitter has spideyxmbj SMAUs and Bloodymary fanart. Insta, well uh it has Vedangi! And some funny Indian creators.
Definitely gonna stick to tiktok though cause itsdigichiaki is on there.
And youtube because that's literally my ancestral home.
Anyway I think I just wanted to rant a bit I'm getting all up in Indian actors/actresses business for some reason lately.
I used to dislike actresses/actors like Rashmikka Mandanna for willingly playing is misogynisitc roles in Indian cinema but I've come to realize they don't have a choice if they want to succeed in their career (sometimes). And now that she has she is taking chance in her movie scripts something I wish more male actors would do. She was beautiful in the movie 'The Girlfriend' it was a really complex story and I'm happy she gave the plot a shot.
I hope she makes more movies like this even if she has to take the occasional L and do a flowerpot role like Jhaanvi Kapoor In Devara and Peddi. (God I hate that movie) I'm not trying to prop her up or anything because the most likely scenario is all celebrities are awful people but I want to at least enjoy the occasional movie of hers that I pirate. (Be so ffr no one's going to the movie nowadays unless it's really good.)
Anyway if anyone reading this, thanks!
Enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are
Why does every mainstream South Indian romcom these days feel like the writers went on Instagram, looked at incels posts about how feminism has gone too far, fake case conspiracies, alimony and divorce panics, and then wrote a plot that goes "ehem actually 🤓👆 marriage is the best thing that can happen to you and divorce only happens because of your ego and you need to learn to compromise" except said ego is actually a woman's self respect and all they're doing is criticizing a version of feminism that doesn't even exist :/
I think-I think I've found my people.
Also why is this so true?!? And most of these films if not featuring a big actor or even if they are end up flopping anyway so like!?!?
So, as an early-2000s Telugu kid, I was hit with the nostalgia wave a few days ago for one particular movie. And for those who liked RRR but don't know about Rajamouli's other works, may I introduce Magadheera
A timeless classic, truly, and definitely did a number on my brain chemistry as a kid, and was the most expensive Telugu movie at the time (budget-wise). Sure, the plot was weird, and it had its ✨ISSUES✨, but for what the cast and crew did, it was good. The songs, however, are iconic even to this day, and as I was watching the music videos, I noticed something.
But before I talk about that, if there's anyone here who doesn't know the plot, here's just enough for my headcannon today, go watch the movie on youtube.
So we have a pair of tragic lovers from way back in the past (time period ambiguous) called Kala Bhairava and Mithravinda. They don't get to confess their love to each other before they die, and so vow to do just that in their next lives, which is the present day (circa 2009).
Enter Harsha, who keeps getting flashbacks to this past life when he makes physical contact with Indu, but he doesn't know who she is or what she looks like. Cue shennangians.
Now back to my analysis. Here is my first point.
Which is that, clearly, Kaala Bhairava and Mitravinda were some kinky motherfuckers because no, this wasn't the only thing they were doing in that song (the sex metaphors were getting out of hand at this point).
And this brings me to my next point,
And that is that Harsha also has (at minimum) a knife kink passed down from his past life. (Additional context: In this song, he was on some strong stuff and thought this nice lady was his girlfriend. The one he still has to rescue from ✨unfortunate circumstances✨.)
And so my conclusion to this is that Indu, my baby girl, also has a knife kink (and probably more), and we just never see it in the movie.
And I totally agree with you on that one.
Wow I knew I loved this movie for a reason!
I don't understand cis men who don't find Nandamuri Tarak Rama Rao Jr attractive meanwhile all the aces and lesbians I know agree that he is on a personal mission to attack everyone's sexualities and unite the world under the one single sexuality of Taraksexuality
I am on mobile so I ran out of space but rest assured my gallery is filled with one gazillion pictures of Tarak Being Beautiful at Everything
While I did love his role in Jai Lava Kusa as Jai a villain archetype I feel like he has such a sweet innocent and charming look that he should play on.
Unfortunately because all the money in mainstream Indian media is in action movies he's probably not gonna return to a character like Bheem's for a long time

inspired by this post about a historical tribal varadeva au!
I feel like my third eye's been awakened
inspired by this post about a historical tribal varadeva au!
I am not a fan of Janhvi Kapoor but it's crazy the disproportionate amount of hate and slut shaming she is getting for her objectifying role in Peddi while no one seems to care that it's the literal director and writer responsible for the way her character is presented
LIKE???? I hate you Jammy Pants! I hate you Buchi Babu Sana! I hate you Indian audience! None of you deserve anything!
This is why I can't stand to watch mainstream Indian movies because I know they're going to pull the most overt form of misogyny that's gonna taint the whole film
MOVE OVER RAM CHARAN HELLO KEVIN!
As some people know Ram Charan's latest movie Peddi released today on June 4 or I guess yesterday in India.
Do I have and hopes for this movie?
*Checks the heroine*: Jhanvi Kapoor? Yep this is gonna be insanely misognyistic
Now I'm not saying Jhanvi Kapoor is directly responsible for this phenomenon of being cast in South Indian movies for the sole purpose of 'attracting' certain types of audiences but oh my god you came from Bollywood! (This is satire I know the people at fault is the director in the Indian Audience promoting this)
Both Devara and Ram Charan starred in action movies where Jhaanvi Kapoor is the heroine with a seemingly confusing plot and sorta misogynistic hero? I dunno I don't think Ram Charan and Jr Ntr are taking this Rajamouli curse pretty well.
Don't worry after a few flops you too will escape like Prabhas with a Kalki or Salaar. It only took him like, four years and three movies.
Hey Ram charan you're almost there! This is your second movie, just one more to go!
This is no hate to the actors in all honesty they act beautifully it's just the roles are kinda . . .
I mean I know mainstream Indian movies are supposed to have a bit of overt misogyny but these movies they've done recently is giving 2013 levels of misogyny.
Hey! I'm not saying Devara didn't have a good concept it's just the execution or at least the plot in the end was kinda predictable a-Katappa copy! Instead of Bahubali's dad dying by Katappa it's Devara's father dying (possibly) by his hand? The movie overall wasn't doing it for me but like what you like.
Anyway the purpose of this post isn't to debate whether or not I'll like watching Peddi no it's about a post I saw on instagram recently.
I do not keep up with promotions for any Indian movies, heck i don't even do it for American movies (Except if it involves Anthony Mackie and Sebastian stan, I'm a newgen sambucky shipper so I've been gobbling up as much content of them in interviews as I could) so I didn't think about looking at any promotional material for the movie since I wasn't really interested in it anyway.
I don't know where the popularity started but Kevin Kunta a professional MMA fighter who also acts as a bodyguard for Ram Charan in his nationwide tour for Peddi has been growing in fame from fans of Ram Charan due to his easy strength, humble nature and overall attitude and fashionable looks.
This is Kevin Kunta btw
He recently also protected jhaanvi Kapoor (I feel like I'm spelling that wrong) in a promotional event when a fan rushed to meet Ram Charan. Kevin Kunta acted quickly grabbing the fan mid run and carrying him away from a visibly startled Jhaanvi kapoor (I hope she's doing okay).
You know how much that man probably weighed? In the 220 lbs at least.
And While the fan didn't have bad intentions just wanting to meet his favorite actor (Ram Charan) which he did get to do because of course he did. It could've been a dangerous situation and people admired how Kevin handled the situation with ease.
After watching a couple of videos all I could think was . . .
Wow he's really attractive-And that he's great at his job!
Some people are debating if introducing Kevin was a publicity stunt or something which I personally don't care about however like with usual publicity there is also a downside and I wanted to address some of it.
I saw a comment suggesting that Kevin should play a villain role in a future tollywood movie which I found disgusting because of the insinuation that black men are only fit for negative roles in Indian media which unfortunately is a longheld practice. Look at Saaho where Black actors were used as side characters that were the goons that the hero had to fight/shoot in one of the scenes. But from what I know this isn't exclusive to just how Black actors are portrayed in Indian cinema but also actors of other nationalities are sidelined to background roles usually as obstacles the main hero has to defeat. Take Pushpa 2 for example where Pushpa jumps out of the container in japan and starts beating up all the Japanese actors who play goons trying to stop him from--honestly I don't even remember what exactly It's been so long since I watched that movie and I didn't even really like either of the movies.
Now I don't know everything about Indian politics and won't pretend I do but I do know that colorism, culture clashes and racism plays a huge role in everyday life in india and these movies and comments reflect that sentiment.
Some people have also suggested he gives off hero material which is a better remark that made me smile a little because yeah! He's handsome, fit and stylish! He should be getting praise.
He made a statement on Insta thanking the fans for their support but even then when there are comments praising him with some of them are backhanded calling him a kukka or dog, King Kong, downplaying his achievements as an MMA fighter to just Ram Charan's bodyguard, weird comments about changing his hair to look better etc. They might have positive intentions but negative connotations because of how uneducated/ignorant the public is referring to him as an object rather than person when calling him Kukka, Obviously referring to gorillas and a racist sterotype when referring to him as King Kong, not respecting him as an individual when only calling him Ram Charan's body guard and suggesting Black hairstyles are 'ugly' when telling him to change his hair.
It's really disgusting and I hope he doesn't see those comments.
I'm happy Kevin Kunta is getting mostly positive feedback with only the occasional racist comment on youtube and insta and hope he continues to have a successful career in MMA. I don't watch sports but I might find time to watch a few clips here and there just to see what it's about.
There wasn't really a point to this post I guess just to thirst a little and y'know spread awareness about some tollywood news and some social commentary. I don't think anyone really cares but I guess I wanted to rant a little.
Anyway check out Kevin's insta linked here

123 we want Yuri!
This is the second time I'm drawing Starfire with insane romantic tension with a female character. The first one is in my drafts.
Honesty idk anything about these characters I just think they look good together.
They call me the Crackshipper I ship anything and everything.
On another note I loved how I was able to actually differentiate Storm and Starfire's hair textures I was scared for a second that I'd be blinded by their big poofy hair and through hair blindness make a carbon copy but I made it work somehow.
This was originally just supposed to be a storm drawing but then the yuri agenda hit me like a train.
I also didn't know what to add for the dialogue but I do know I wanted to make Star angry and Storm annoyed cause of the reference.
What would they be angry about? No clue someone else can make up context.
me and friend just watched scooby doo the movie
Hey! Why didn't I think of that . . .
Happy Pride Month!
I wish all queer folk a great pride! While I know the world has been scary lately I hope that everyone who is able to will freely express themselves with friends, family and a community that is centuries in the making.
Queer people have always been here and will always be here. Never let anyone tell you otherwise!
To celebrating Queer people, lives and Media!

The FunkyFrogbait discourse is disgusting
I've looked through the comments of the Funkyfrogbait response video (I don't care what you say that was NOT an apology) and why is everyone genuinely rewriting canon rn?
'Oh Funky said they were genuinely apologetic for their actions and were trying to educate themselves'
B#tch where!?!? They didn't not say sorry once in that video or at least until halfway through and it wasn't even acknowledging the negative effects of their comments on the marginalized group their comments had been impacting!
Who uses the phrase 'I am incentivized to do nothing right now' when making an apology which I believe that video is not!
This bigotry is literally filling every space of the internet with multiple people spamming the 'it's a nothingburger' rhetoric in literally every criticism of the video and the comments itself and frankly it's pissing me off.
I *liked* Funkyfrogbait I was elated when I found out they had a gaming channel because there were so few good gamers that I liked but they are literally promoting bigotry with their response I would argue it's actually more hostile than Gooseworks or Michael Kovach and Ashley's apologies because at least they pretended to be sorry while FunkyFrogbait is acting from a place of 'I understand the game and I know I'm going to lose' when the game isn't even rigged against them.
Their follow count hasn't even dropped no mass unfollowing, no super viral posts that criticized their actions they are literally an example of why cancel culture doesn't truly exist. They are going scotch free while so many creators and commenters are being attacked for being rightfully upset.
Not once in the video did Funky said they intended to change because from their perspective they didn't do anything that garnered change, they'd simply said the wrong thing at the wrong time that their reaction had unintended consequences but that didn't reflect anything on them.
They didn't apologize once in the video for what resulted because of their actions, they didn't acknowledge that more marginalized voices would be harmed by their fanbase rushing to support them, they didn't even try and have the decency knowing popular they are to tell their fanbase not to meaninglessly attack people while defending them because they believe it wouldn't 'attacking' it would be supporting.
Now I am not saying that Funky is willfully evil, I am saying that they are willfully ignorant and find it surprising how they weren't able to take any meaningful criticism out of the backlash. They said they wouldn't take hate campaigns as meaningful criticisms but truly what meaningful criticism did Funky take from the situation? They aren't taking time to reflect on their internal biases, they didn't acknowledge the harm that will and has been brought upon marginalized communities who are justified in voicing their criticisms and they never once addressed any part of the 'criticisms' that may hold value in their perspective.
Funkyfrogbat only reiterated what everyone was saying that they were ignorant of the situation which their 'haters' acknowledged, that they had spoke with limited information, and that they were likely speaking from personal experience or vitriol on the topic of cancel cuture.
They spent half the video saying that which everyone basically already knew. People or at least the majority weren't saying that Funky was openly racist that they had some evil agenda against black people, they were saying that they were quick to defend Gooseworks when they didn't have the proper information, that they didn't take something as serious as racism allegations seriously being willfully ignorant and labelling it a hate train and that they had been a hypocrite when saying people who spread misinformation were just as bad as the people who started them when Funky themselves spoke misinformation!
Funky didn't need to be cancelled they just needed to reflect but they didn't have the decency to even do that acting self righteous and like they were the peak of morality.
Funky's reaction and response is really disappointing I liked their content how they approached certain issues and topics and how they acknowledged they were growing from just simple commentary into something more meaningful I was upset when they made that rant on stream but I had hoped at the very least that they would acknowledge what they did was wrong and try to improve.
This felt like the second annual creator purge for me that these TADC controversies are really bringing out the true colors of people in a time where doing racist things is no longer even worth a 'cancellation'.
And I know exactly what sparked this.
I might make a more in depth post about this later I actually started writing something the day I found out about the controversy before the response video from Funky and had started writing my thoughts. I might make the post into a two section thing reflecting my thoughts before and after the response.
