Thank you so much for joining me on this incredible journey over almost six years. I published the first chapter back in November 2020, and now, 200 chapters later, it’s time to officially close this chapter of Mundane Life.

This journey has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve seen myself grow as an author, and I am endlessly grateful for the small community we’ve built together. Thank you to everyone I’ve met and befriended along the way. Thank you for all the love, for staying even when life got hectic and I couldn’t write, and for being there when I returned. This isn’t the end… and it isn’t goodbye. Honestly, I wasn’t even planning to finish the book here, but Wattpad’s 200-chapter limit has forced me to close Mundane Life for good.

Even though Mundane Life ends here, the memories, the laughter, the tears, and all the little moments we shared through these chapters will stay with me—and I hope with you, too. My DamiRae Story Funfact

Back in 2021, I was still trying to figure out the book cover and even the title for my Damirae story on Wattpad. At the time, I had two very different concepts in mind—one was more of a coming-of-age story, while the other had a much more mature and emotionally heavy direction.

While searching for inspiration for the cover, I came across the art of @chromium7sky.tumblr.com⁠, and I completely fell in love with it. There was one specific artwork that really stayed with me, and honestly, it helped me decide which direction I wanted the story to take.

And now it’s 2026, and my story is still ongoing on Wattpad.

I recently found the original cover and title draft again, and it honestly felt a little surreal. Before Mundane Life, the story was originally called It’s You and I. Looking back at it now feels like opening a small time capsule from the very beginning of this journey.

Scene: Both sets of Raven’s parents arrive for a meeting with the guidance counselor—John Constantine and Zatanna, her adoptive parents, and Trigon and Arella, her biological parents.

*Guidance counselor is stunned to see two sets of parents but tries to be respectful* Guidance Counselor: So are you both Rachel's parents?

John Constantine: Zatanna and I adopted Rachel after my sister Arella died.

Guidance Counselor: Oh—I’m so sorry to hear that.

Arella: Don’t be. I’m back. Hi—I’m Arella. Rachel’s birth mother.

Guidance Counselor: You died? *stunned*

John Constantine: *glares at Trigon* Yes, she did, she was killed by her husband.

Trigon: *Disguised as human, clears his throat awkwardly and looks away*

Arella: It's all in the past now, we are a family who wishes nothing but the best for our daughter.

Zatanna: Arella is right, we all came here for Rachel

Guidance Counselor: Alright… let’s begin the way we usually do. I’ll ask each of you what kind of work you do. That will help us guide Rachel toward possible career paths and prepare her for the course she might take in college.

Zatanna: I'm a performer, a stage magician, and I have regular shows in Las Vegas.

Guidance Counselor: That’s wonderful. I can definitely see where Rachel gets her confidence from. And you Mr. Constantine?

John Constantine: Let's just say I'm the Master of some sort.

Guidance Counselor: Are taking a master degree on something, Mr. Constatine?

John Constantine: I am already a master of it but I don't suppose you can get an MA or MSc on mastering the Dark Arts.

Guidance Counselor: ...

Guidance Counselor: *turns to Arella* ...And what about you, Miss Arella? What line of work are you in?

Arella: Oh, I don't actually do mortal work, I'm an angel.

Guidance Counselor: ...

Guidance Counselor: ...and your husband, sir... um, what kind of work do you do?

Trigon: *visibly offended, voice low and heavy* I am the King of Hell, mortal. I command legions, I rule over suffering. I do not answer to your petty notions of “work.”

Arella: *gently places a hand on his shoulder*

Trigon: *stops, clears his throat, reins himself in* Apologies, mortal. I am… the King of Hell.
