I attended the #nairobisummit last week as a guest of the #unfpa. It was an experience of a lifetime. Over 10k folks from all over the continent and the world gathered in the city to mobilize around the #icpd25; what is the status and impact of women’s sexual & reproductive rights? In Cairo in 1994, over 150 countries agreed to prioritize women’s health & gender equality. At last week’s summit, I met and spoke with @phumzilemlambongcuka, @aya_chebbi, @atayesheunfpa, @jayathmadw, Irish senators who repealed the abortion ban, and the Crown Princess of Denmark. I met, and was inspired by the work and commitment of so many other guests & participants. I turned 34 in Nairobi. In this bustling city, I celebrated with new friends, old friends @freemanagogo @daveschlussman, received cake and champagne from strangers & coworkers, met a man who spoke very little English but played only Dolly Parton in his car (songs saved via USB), and spent time just with my thoughts. Finally! I found my 2 foot not-so-hot pool. It's nighttime (5pm), but we're positioned on a cliff at the top of fjord, with a game-of-thrones scenic view overlooking the Arctic & previous glacial path. Best laps ever. (at Hofsós, Skagafjardarsysla, Iceland)

It may be minimalist and soviet-era inspired, but I brought fairy lights and cassia fixed us nightly drinks. Our last haggie with individual duvets, Icelandic stouts. (at Keflavik International Airport)
