At a particular moment in time in life, I use to believe a soulmate was going to be found in a love interest, strictly. It will be someone who knows you, and accepts all of you. You confide in this person, and when things get tough they remain there. Why? Because you share the same mentality and morals of what a healthy relationship should be. They will fight for you, and only you, no one will ever take your place.

Then there are individuals in life that you will meet in the most unpleasant circumstances, and war begins. Wounds are re opened, lies are being exposed, stories begin to make sense, and each story is another tear in one’s heart. Begin to realize, their pain is your pain, the reason why they cry at night, is the same reason you do. Begin to hope their pain surpasses, because only you know exactly the pain they are in and don’t wish it upon anyone. Begin to help one another, and talk about the pain because only they know the reason you cry, feel numb, angry, and so on. Only they know why love now is so scary for you. Only they know the level of betrayal you feel. Betrayed by the same guy. Recited “I love you” to two souls, and laid us down when one of us wasn’t available. I don’t know what’s worse than knowing the man you are in love with had someone else there all along. He’s our monster. He’s our pain, he’s our torment.
