I’ll definitely remember that and take you up on it if I need it. I think I’m okay right now, but you know the invitation goes both ways. I’m a pretty good ear and shoulder, apparently.

Hating people is easy. It doesn’t take much effort or thick-headedness at all when you’re as angry as I am. Caring about people? That’s a different story. It’s worth it when you care about the right people. I mean, with Henry it was impossible because I never had any bloody idea what was going on with him. Lily, Ryder, Piers, Rose, Madison, Roderick though? Nothing’s ever been harder but at the same time nothing’s ever been easier. Being alone’s not as easy as I make it look, Rose. Don’t kid yourself. Worrying that nobody cares about you at all is a lot harder than worrying if someone might be upset with you. I am happy…most of the time. I just don’t know if he is. And as much as I don’t need anyone else’s approval… I want someone who cares about me as much as I care about them. I think I need it, after everything. Young? Like our age young? …They’re curse marks. My mom has some, from the first war. Dark magic scars never fully heal. Fading…fading is the best you can hope for. Hey, you didn’t screw up. Four against one is never a fair fight, and it’s not like you had much of a chance since they knocked you out so early on.

Of course we are friends Marley. My summer has been nice. Not much noteworthy but I don’t have anything to really complain about. How about you Marley?

Not note-worthy? I thought you and Tina were dating now? Is that wrong. I feel like I haven’t kept up on gossip very well. Um... the summer was fine. Just having a nice quiet few weeks before school starts. 

Just a lot going on in my head, I guess. I hope so. It’s weird right now.

Um... still just feeling kind of tired, a lot. We’ll see how I’m feeling the week of. 

[PM] You don’t seem fine, are you sure you’re alright? Well why don’t you tell me then. You really think so? I’m really excited about my project, it’s gonna be so cool.

Isn’t there a difference between Ryder’s stupid kidding stubborn and actually putting your foot down where it matters though? I can be thick about things other than hating people, although I’m pretty good at hating people. Sometimes hating is easier than…than caring about people and allowing yourself to get hurt. I kind of think I’m being stupid caring about a few people at the moment. You’re not me, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be brave every once in a while. You never know how it’ll turn out, things you think are going to be bad can even be good. Seen? What’s wrong with being seen? If you tell me, I swear on Godric’s grave I won’t tell a soul. I’m a lot of things, but I’m not a bad secret keeper. Maybe, hopefully.

She’s incredibly small and loves to play and cuddle. You’ll have to come over for kitten play time. 

I’ll have to meet her when school starts up again... I’m not even sure I can make it to Ryder and Henry’s party.

We had a rather deep heart-to-heart, so he hasn’t really been quiet to me. I think I’ve been the quieter one of the two of us. I’m glad you seem to be doing better.

Oh, don’t worry about that Marley because it’s not. Maybe we should just change the subject to something else.
