If something makes you happy, I doubt anyone could call it trivial. Especially in these trying times, anything that brings some joy is worth it. I wish you could tell us your costume as well but who wants to ruin the surprise?

I went into Muggle London...

I can scarcely believe it, and it’s already been like a week. I suppose that, without magic to automatically fix such big messes like this, Muggles have had to become accustomed to repairs taking time. I’m not saying magic has made us weak, but perhaps patience is its own kind of magic...and of course it’s just easier to rant about their resilience instead of just discussing how horrible what happened is, isn’t it?

I’d be sad for everyone who’s life was worse because I disappeared, but there is something particularly special about the best friend’s sadness, isn’t there? I’m glad to be proclaimed alive for a good while longer.

Yeah, girls have that advantage since we have good hair. Can you imagine Malfoy trying to do a hair flip when his was gross and long for a couple of weeks a while back? Ew. Yeah, I kind of go with whatever he’s doing, since he’s usually who I’m hanging out with at those kinds of things. Thank Merlin I haven’t lost him to some boring date yet.

I really don’t want to imagine Malfoy flipping his hair, no thank you, though I’m sure Lucy would still find it fetching, so maybe there really is someone for everyone. Anyone would be boring compared to you, so I think you’ve got a good handle on Hugo for the foreseeable future, at least.

I’d say we’re knowledgeable enough for two to be a reasonable sample size in this case, for sure! It’s the twenty-first century, I’m sure you could make a name for yourselves without scare tactics if you really tried! Although I know better than to try and force athletes to do anything, Gracie has made me think you’re a somewhat intimidating bunch. 

It’s less about the time period and more about a brand, I think. Every team is known for their “thing”, their thing that makes them different than the others and that the audiences identify with. Those who prefer a tougher, more physical match root for us. Hopefully, they can extend their brand eventually, but I think it’ll happen at its own pace. We’re not intimidating, not really; bookworms can be just as intimidating sometimes. Gracie is just a good example of someone who’s not afraid to be extreme.

That’s so exciting - I bet your training will be everything you dreamed of. Me? Oh, I’ve just been busy with moving into the new place and jumping into Quidditch practice. It’s more or less the dream, so I can’t really complain. 

Really?  Well, I’m glad you went with your intuition then.  And that it’s wonderful you’re fitting in so well: I admit, I’m much more interested in viewing a Falcon match simply to see this “persona” and how she differs from the witch I became acquainted with in school.  Well said: I for one look forward to seeing what you accomplish in the future.  It doesn’t?  Your marks seemed immaculate in school, and I don’t recall you ever causing trouble: what could you possibly have done to disappoint them so much as to cause such a rift?

I imagine Falcon’s Lydia won’t be too different off the field, with friends; I hope she’s not, anyway, because she’s much more aggressive as a player than I’ve been accustomed to. I look forward to hearing about your future successes as well. My marks were always well enough, and I wasn’t a trouble-maker, no. It was... something that’s still a bit of a secret, honestly. It was something that definitely made them not proud of my choices, though. I doubt it’s something someone as responsible as you would ever do, if that’s consolation.

I think I can find a way to make time to go looking; it’ll be nice to finally be able to cancel my future dognapping plans for good. Do you have the entire weekend off? I just realized with getting thrown into moving and your practices starting we’re incredibly overdue for a real date.

I have Sunday off - they like to practice most Saturdays, unfortunately, but at least that’s half a free weekend for the foreseeable future. You’re actually right. It’s kind of funny, that we’re married and living together and still want to make time for dating. I vote we go for something completely easy and cliche, like a good dinner?

See?  I can be decent.  Especially since I’m working over Liambic to let me mess around with your upgrades.  Killing off his flatmate and bestie probably wouldn’t be a great recommendation.

I never doubted it for a moment. Killing me off would severely detract from the quality of his life, I would not recommend it at all.

I can certainly understand the importance of public relations: after all, a successful investment is one that draws sales, because of or despite their proficiency.  And the Falcons certainly seem to do just that.  That certainly wouldn’t hurt I imagine, and you’d make for an excellent venture then, for such a strategy.  Have you begun working with your teammates already then?  I hope you took into account your chemistry with the team as well as your prospects as a Seeker, simply because you’ll be spending so much time with them so far away.  Excellent: I know Gracie intends to remain involved in the sport long after her requirement; however being capable of transitioning to a white collar position isn’t anything to scoff at, and with your mind I feel that you could manage quite a few.  I don’t believe that.  I mean, you’re blood– a Chang.  Especially if this was solely a response to your career…well, it’s not as though you’ll have no opportunities after this.  Many professional athletes have gone on to work in high profile Ministry positions, as well as other prestigious professions.  Whether it was something you wanted or not, surely they can see that you’re not blotting their efforts simply by taking a little more time for yourself?  I can respect your consideration to simply cut your losses; however I cannot myself imagine doing so.

The Falcons were one of two options, actually - the Tutshill Tornadoes also asked me to go to practice with them and feel it out before trying out, but ultimately I found the chemistry better with the Falcons, and also I appreciated their strategy more to the point where it became an easy choice. I’ve had some more time to fly with them since practice started and I’m happy to say that I feel very comfortable there already, despite their somewhat aggressive demeanor that’s actually quite an easy Quidditch-persona to slip into while needed. Opportunities abound so long as the mind is open and ready for them, I agree; I’m not discounting anything quite yet. In the spirit of honesty and clarity of the story, their decision to be disappointed in me doesn't solely come from the career aspect of my life. That certainly plays a part in it - not following their plans which I’d told them were our plans had to sting - but in truth I did something much more permanent in terms of changing their plans for me, something I refused to take back, and that caused a significant enough rift that I can’t see things getting better there for quite a long time, if at all. 

The first cities I think of are always Madrid, Paris, Rome, Athens, Berlin… I don’t know if that’s a normal list but those are the most memorable for me, and other cities follow suit. Oh! And Amsterdam, how could I forget Amsterdam? And obviously London, and Dublin, but those are here and hardly count. That’s so violent! Can’t you start changing the team’s image to something a little friendlier?

Paris, Rome, London, Amsterdam, and Athens are the first five to come to my mind, so that seems to match up - I’m sure it’s possible to look up which cities in Europe are the most “popular” to be absolutely sure, but this seems like good evidence on a small scale. It is violent, but I doubt I can single-handedly change their image when it’s been their image for so long, especially since during Quidditch, I can understand not being too friendly. I’m not at head-crushing levels myself or anything, but competition is important.

Yeah, it’s mostly just him jumping around and waving his arms and hoping for the best, but you’re right, it’s definitely fun. Do you have a dancing style? I didn’t get to look out for it since you bailed on the Valentine’s Ball. It’s like a punching bag but better. Better find yourself a retirement plan that’s less boring, then. You’re welcome to steal my ideas if you want them. 

A dancing style? I would classify myself as “non-embarrassing but not spectacular” when it comes to dancing - basic small steps and a lot of hair flips, mainly, because doing much else feels ridiculous, at least to me. What about you? I imagine you as a jumper-arm-waver just like Hugo. I’ll consider it.

After what seems like an unending wait, I’ve finally heard back from the Ministry – I’ve been offered a training position as an Auror. If I pass all the tests and whatnot, and I hope I will, I’ll be the next Auror in the Potter-Weasley family.

Congratulations, Rose! I’m not at all surprised that someone with your aplomb and fiery disposition will be able to be the next Wotter Auror. You’ll do wonderfully, I’m sure! When do you start?

Netflix is glorious for days off. I’m watching this anime called Ouran High School Host Club and it was like ahead of the game. Haruhi didn’t care for gender stereotypes at all. She shut that all down all the time. I am not ashamed to say I have been binge watching it. If anyone has suggestions, let me know.

I could never get into animes. I tried once, as someone suggested Attack on Titan to be a show of substance, but the art styling and heavy-handed themes didn’t appeal to me. I’m glad that there’s more female-positive work out there, but I can’t pretend the vessel it’s presented in is any sort of appealing. I’m glad you enjoy it, though. To each their own.
