Briefly misplaced my beacon prop while in Essek cosplay over the weekend and there is something really funny to me about Essek running around the con just. frantically going up to people and being like. "Have you seen a beacon anywhere??" Immersive cosplay experience

My stories from the incident, all posted within a span of about an hour. Immediately after this I went to a Pathfinder oneshot and suggested a plan my DM called a war crime, so I think the purple paint must have been seeping into my brain or something.

The Mighty Nein Stories Untold book is coming out on my birthday, which means new Essek content on my birthday! Genuinely one of the main things I'm looking forward to that day. Though hopefully I'll also make some black moss cupcakes again this year! (Using the recipe from the official cookbook, they're really good you guys) Also if I do get this as a birthday present (it's the main thing I'll ask for if someone does ask me about a last minute gift, but I'm unsure if I'm getting any presents this year) it'll be the second year I get an M9-related book for my birthday, I got the Caleb graphic novel last year.

#I'm not actually sure I'll be able to get it on release day though because I don't know if I'm getting any presents this year #like I'll probably get a few belated things but we are currently very broke #so I may end up having to just avoid spoilers for a bit #but hoping to get it close to release/maybe as a belated bday present #essek thelyss #critical role #cr #tbh not sure why I'm main tagging this this is v much a personal post #but whatevs #I am also excited for a planned discord call I have w my brother #so. essek story cupcakes and that are the only things I really have to look forward to #if I can get the book anyway #if I do get some belated presents I'll probably also ask for the Essek sweater vest if that's still in stock when we have money again

I find it fascinating (and fucked up) how similar the silhouettes of their outfits are. Tried drawing a diagram to show what I mean by that, and realized in the process their poses are also quite similar in the images I chose. I wonder if post character development Essek is going to get a new outfit as a way of showing his growth. I mean I figure he'd get a new outfit eventually anyway (like at least one for Aeor if not sooner) but I wonder if he'll get one with a fairly different cut.

#ik there's only so many ways wizard robes can look but this has to be deliberate right #I wonder if said hypothetical new outfit may end up resembling Caleb to some extent??
