he was on smoothie run for that adopted niece of his. she must have forgotten about it, it wasnât at all uncharacteristic of her. â heâd been tracing her movements via the Uncle Machete Han bracelet heâd gifted her for her recent graduation. and while he had reservations for that whole donât give the kid a trophy for participation sort of deal, since she was currently enrolled in summer classes, it was more for his and Simonâs sense of ease. because with Rowan running loose on the streets along with the Doves, Han needed to know she was safe at all times. if not for himself, then for Simon. the four of them Simon, Han, Mimi, and Rowan were slowly and more certainly while cramped in that small 1000 ft apartment, were becoming a dysfunctional, yet loving family.
but that was his reason for being in that small little craft store. otherwise, he wouldnât have stepped foot, in there. well, then again, as he walked down that aisle of multicolored string, the particular shade of scarlet struck his eye, he had to snatch it real quick for his bulletin board escapades with Gil. tucking the roll of string under his arm, the eyes flew wide at the sight, though he wasnât at all surprised. though, it ruined his plans for stealing his new craft supplyâ˘
he scoffed before, of course, coming to her rescue. âIf you twisted your ankle Simon will panic.â he held out his hand to her, while showing her smoothie. âYou have to try to walk on it first, and then you get this, okay.â his mouth contorted as she continued to spew glitter all over his shoes. âRowan, please no. Not the Bottegas.â he groaned as he gripped the bridge of his nose, but it was too late, and his new focus was on helping her up.
Reaching up with a bright grin for her stinky uncle, she laughed at her own misfortune before coughing and spitting out more glitter that was evidently still floating around in her mouth. Grabbing his hand she used him as leverage to hoist herself upright before dusting herself off with her other hand, to no avail. âListen those shoes will clean up, right now we gotta blast before they realise who it was that made all this mess and expect me to pay for itâ she grabbed the string out of his hand and threw it down the aisle, before tugging him along towards the exit, leaving a trail of glitter and giggles behind her.    It was evident that her ankle was not twisted, the way she scampered ahead of her protesting uncle and laughed over her shoulder, her hair sparkling in multicoloured holo as the breeze from the door blew it behind her. A muffled âhey!â from the clerk spurred her on even faster, barging past a young couple who were just entering and dragging Han along behind her. They ran for a few blocks, she wanted to be sure they were out of range of the craft store clerks wrath, before she stopped, doubling over and coughing as more of the wretched sparkles lodged themselves in her throat. âWoah, I am not... cut out for... this whole... running thingâ she gasped, leaning against a wall and brushing her hair out of her face, leaving a trail of green and pink glitter in itâs wake. âWhatâs up uncle Han? Didja need me for somethin?â
