Some Cycling posters designed to make cyclists more aware on the roads.
A Lizardy Mr Man kind of thing.
Raindrops on dashboard while I wait in the car …
An Idea For Puffin Book Cover Competition - Let me know what you think needs further development:
“It's okay. We aren't in the same class. Just don't forget that some of us watch the sunset too.”
― S.E. Hinton,
Sunsets and sunrises in the Outsiders represent the happiness and good nature within the world. A particular point is where Jonny (a member of the socs gang) compares the gold poem "Nothing gold can stay" that Ponboy (the protagonist of the novel) is writing in English class, to the gold of the sunrises Ponboy enjoys. There are references to sunests and sunrises throughout the book and thought it was a good symbol to use for the cover of the book. I was attempting to recreate a scene where Ponboy and Johnny are watching a sunset together. I think that they had a cowboy idealism that they would overcome their problems eventually and ride off into the sunset eventually also. I wanted the Illustration to come across a quite sketchy and rough to represent their up-bringing and situation within society this is why the font used has elements cut out of it also as if it where a solid structure that has gradually degraded over time.

Screen print of a cyclist. As an avid cyclist - I'm thinking of developing a cycling campaign for Leeds (where I live) to get more people involved in cycling but also alerting them to the dangers of cycling and how accidents can be avoided.
Figuring the Unfigurable Issue #2
A quick publication I developed about garden gnomes. Using inspiration from various types of grids and photographical layouts.
A poster designed as a bit of a prelude to some publications I will be making over the summer period. //
Another quick zine made from these ink drawings I've been getting into. I was looking at the daily monsters blog - http://www.dailymonster.com/ which are totally awesome, and i felt like doing a few of my own. So i dropped some ink on a page and gave myself a couple of minuites to come up with some weird and wonderful creatures. I then made them into a book which I digitally printed. Not come up with a cover for it yet, thinking of doing random splats of ink for the cover..
Made this book in collaboration with Lyndon Wallace. The concertina book was completely hand made through book binding techniques and screen printing.
The story follows one mans life starting with his birth and ending with his death. Our seperate illustrative styles meet in the middle where a life changing event occurs. The vectored, more happy and clean illustrative style is mixed for an inky messy style - insinuating that his life has taken a turn for the worse.
Hope you like it!

Finally a finished copy of Figuring the Un-Figurable Issue #1. This has been a month long collaborative effort that has resulted in a really good looking publiucation in my opinion! The theme for this Issue is on Junk-how people in the world percieve different types of Junk (whether that be junk food, technology that breaks, how junk gets thrown away etc) Now to get started on issue #2...
A quick taster for a collaborative publication made over the course of three weeks. The theme is on JUNK - how junk is all around us and how we collect it, eat it, hoard it, become at one with it. 50 copies are to be printed by the newspaper club (http://www.newspaperclub.com/) and images will be uploaded as soon as possible.
A two colour screen printed peice of work. It was a collaborative effort between two of us and we were focusing on using minimal Illustration and mark making.
My third photographical zine. This time I have screen printed the final photographs as a half tone dot, changing the colour to red on the reverse. Out of the three zines, the photographical layout is the most interesting and uses up the space on each page well - I would like to start adding bodys of text to give the zines more depth however.
Series of logos I was commissioned to make for the Stray Arrows facebook page. Check out the band here:

A CD cover I was commisioned to make for a university based film about technology.
The logo was made on Illustrator and digitally printed on thin brown paper.
10 points that are important to me and my practice as a designer. Background design is based on a Bauhouse grid system. Again playing with fonts and layout is important to me.
