one of the first interactions of robin with the strawhats after she joined them. she spent 20 years hiding and running away. the last 4 of them disguised as a baroque works agent, working in organized crime just to survive and to hold on to her last glimpse of hope to find the poneglyph of alabasta. when luffy saved her against her will, she told him to take responsibility for his crime: he saved a person who wanted to die. seeing her like this, asking if that's really how cheerful they are all the time and wholeheartedly smiling at the idea of spending some time with people like them, makes my heart ache for her. sometimes it's the little details that make you understand how dark the world of one piece can get, how truly awful the real enemy they are fighting is. how can you strip a person of their will to live, when all they wanted was to know the history of the world they live in? how can you bring a person to say saving them was a crime? how can you get someone to feel that much relief at the idea of being able to have a little bit of fun? oda is seriously an amazing writer when it comes to portraying unspoken pain

Moral of the story is you should engage in the process of creation around your favorite things. You'll feel better for it.
