Here’s a project sheet I drew up for a cold frame on illustrator. Enter in your dimensions based on your top, (the top I am using is an old vintage window,) within the empty spaces between the arrows. Â

Here’s a taste of Longwood Gardens.
This has been one of my favorite gardens to visit, each time I discover something new. Whenever I have a design block, I always find myself looking back at Longwood for inspiration. These photos were taken in different seasons of 2015.
Located in Kennett Square, PA, and expanding over 1,000 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows, it is hard to not find something to enjoy, whether it be in their beautiful conservatory or outside.
“Longwood Gardens is the living legacy of Pierre S. du Pont, inspiring people through excellence in garden design, horticulture, education, and the arts."

First official post of the blog :)
It seems only fitting to start it off with the plant of the week, Eschscholzia californica or also known as California Poppy. This was taken at Rutgers Gardens in the summer of 2015. I will do a write up of that garden later, so stay tuned!Â
A little more about Eschscholzia californica:
It is the state flower of California, being native to the Western Unites States. Its hardiness zones are 6 - 10, but are primarily treated as annuals in colder climates. Reaching up to 1.5 ft tall and wide, this plant is great for very sunny spots. While it looks wonderful on its own, in multiples it is even better. It is a summer bloomer, starting in June to ending in July. Something to note about this plant is that when it happy, it’ll spread like wildfire. Companion plantings can include other wildflowers such as Gilia spp., Iris spp., and Neomarica caerulea. These are great low maintenance plants that are real show stoppers in the hot summer months.Â
