Taste: Did you ever get a root-beer flavored sucker -- sorry, lollipop -- from a barber shop as a kid (or adult)? Yeah, that’s what this awfully named sugar water tastes like. Imitation root beer, like what someone who’s only had root beer once, many years ago, would recall to distill its essence into a corner-store can of disappointment. But overall, it’ll do the trick when you need to get down. Though you’ll hate yourself.
Notes: The five ingredients here are equally as depressing as the taste: water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, natural and artificial flavors. Hard pass. By comparison, Stewart’s has all of the above plus yucca extract, a foaming agent that might be able to lower high blood pressure(?), to give it that extra creaminess.
