Stewart’s
When: 2.27.15
Where: Black Shack Burger / New York, New York
Can/Bottle/Fountain: Fountain
Taste: Classic American root beer. Foamy, frothy texture you’d expect from a fountain. Standard head with a creamy finish. A prominent vanilla flavor with less spice. Stewart’s knows how to do for the sweet teeth.
Notes: There was a neat lil burger joint round the corner from a cheap(ish) hotel I stayed at a few times in grad school, so occasionally I’d venture over with mates and we’d nourish ourselves in the comfort of fast (casual) food. We were interns, some unpaid, dropping $150 a week on travel and lodging just to bolster our resumes with big-city media clips. And so I’d drink a root beer with my greasy burger, the sweet spice cleansing my mouth of french fry remnants and steadying me, even momentarily, for an uncertain future.
