This is where my lore deviates from my research. To establish something that previously did not exist requires the determination and imagination to make it real, huh?

It sounds like right now you’re thinking too broadly, which means whatever message you’re trying to send is going to be easily missed.

I won’t tell you what to do, because that will influence the words you choose to tell your story. Instead I will offer a different colored lens:

Consider you have five sheets of paper that can fit into a glass bottle, and whatever you write will be sealed up inside and set free to wander the tides of the world. You have no control over how long those words are at sea, what shores the bottle will wash up on, nor whom may be the one to find it. It’s important to consider the perspective of the persons who stumble across your message to understand what you were trying to convey, or if your words were even meant for them in the first place.

Things like ideas and genres and metaphors are only decorations to the inner message. Creating a board of meanings you want to convey, building and referencing a world bible, and developing relatable and flawed characters to tell your story through are great ways to ensure the passion you devote to a project comes through even across time, cultures and continents.

Kingdom Hearts has been a large part of my life since early high school. I was never a huge Disney fan (shocker) but I loved Tetsuya Nomura’s character designs and really enjoyed the concept of being able to travel to different worlds.

Birth by Sleep still holds the number one spot for combat design (in my opinion.) I really enjoyed the way you would farm spells from Heartless and combine them into new ones. The Command systems for each character was also a lot of fun, especially the Wing Blade series. I played a lot of the command board during my commute to work on the PSP haha.

As far as hopes for KH4, I’d love to see some more Final Fantasy love, maybe some of the scrapped episode lore from 15 or integrating the Eikon system from 16. I’m just hoping the story won’t have me lost for not having played some of the mobile games, it was hard enough trying to catch up with Days and CoM.

I find this funny as I’ve never played 8, but with all my research I’ve noticed a common theme across many of the Final Fantasy titles.

The entire concept of a garden came about through therapy and my own meditation when trying to regain peace and balance within myself. It was continuously reiterated when speaking with close friends who were also navigating difficult times—I noticed that a lot of us were spiraling due to external interferences, rather than focusing inwards.

A paraphrase I often used was,

“You can spend all of your waking hours peeking over your fence looking at the gardens in other’s backyards, but no matter how beautiful their roses and lush their leaves, they are not yours to envy. It is imperative you close the gate and take a good long look at your own patch of grass and spend the time removing the weeds, tilling the soil, and planting something uniquely your own. Only then will you have an expanse of blooms to look forward to, so long as you continue to cultivate and protect it.”

It’s very easy to get caught up in the pointless noise these days; I first noticed it with the introduction of the internet during my young school days. It takes continuous effort to recognize what makes us individuals, and a daily reminder that there are things only we can do, no matter how small it may seem.

Following these observations, I decided to delve further into the language of flowers. One of the books I have been referencing in my research is called Floriography: The Victorian Language of Flowers by Jessica Roux. I’ve also been translating, compiling and cross-referencing a personal compendium based on Japan’s flower language, supplemented with extra information from Wikipedia concerning genus and Latin root names, as well as regional and seasonal information.

Art--all forms of man-made creative expression--has been a fundamental part of humanity throughout history. Architecture, sculptures, written language, spoken language, song, music, dance, paintings, murals, martial arts, sports, comedy, theatre, poetry, film, animation, comics, literature, performance, cultural customs, worship; I can't even begin to list every possible form of human creation.

The question that stares me in the face day-in and day-out isn't just, "Who is removing the paths to these expressions as viable lifestyles/industries/parts of society," but also, WHY?

What is there to gain from a populace that has no recourse to rest from their unpaid overtime, their overexertion from 2 to 3 jobs, their malnutrition from rising costs of food and mounting anxious distress from insecure shelter with the state of housing inaccessibility? People are physically and mentally sick, tired, and most of all, angry. And angry people don't have the patience or energy left for cognizant discussions.

When the things that make life worth living and enjoyable are reserved only for a specific group people, ask yourself what sort of system you belong to. I can only hope you choose to resist it. That in and of itself is a form of artistic expression against all odds.

With the recent release of Gameoverse (loved the pilot btw), it made me search for the creator of the show. I came back with his name being Ross O'Donovan.

As for, "activities," he really only made and had time for things he needed to do, and things he wanted to do. He needed to eat, and so did Shane. He wanted to work, and lucky for him, Shane was right there, too.

Always have I been frustrated at everyone's desperation to be unique. Different is something I've always been, but unlike the stories and movies that celebrate it. Being different my whole life never was never a blessing.   It's no Good Will Hunting, and the turmoil never ceases even when you've found the place where you can be most like yourself. That's what being unique is. The images don't stop, that voice is never silent, you're unable to turn off being yourself, and forever you will be alone.  Success is a temporary ale and lie that masks something that never fades. What I would give for some of that medocrity your so tired of.

Never in my life have I met somone simultaneously so adorably timid and so tremendously indtimidating.

Would you happen to know about the upgrade similar to how you mentioned Ruby would upgrade her scythe into a hoverboard? In the anime Ice Queendom, Ruby's scythe does turn into a snowboard.

There was a time when we were reviewing where the story was at, and we landed on Glynda. She was an anomaly in that her name didn’t follow the rule system, so we were racking our brains trying to figure her out. Sometimes it was just throwing everything we could think of out and letting the ideas come to us blindly.

She ended up turning into a really cool catalyst in tandem with Ozpin, being the first to welcome him to the planet. A lot of the world building I worked out for him stemmed from that breakthrough, and it’s something I’m quite proud of so I’ve been reworking that lore for myself.

Things as familiar as the back of your eyelids appear as an unseen, unknown and unfamiliar treasure secured under lock and key to those who are hunting for it.

During the 1960s, it was discovered that cultures distinguished between colours in the following order: first black and/or white, then red, and then either green or yellow.

It turns out these colours match the four horsemen of the apocalypse: first the White Rider of Conquest, then the Red Rider of War second, third's the Black Rider of Famine, and then the Pale Rider of Death; olour of Death's horse is written as pàllidus in Latin and khlōrós in the original Koine Greek, which can mean green/greenish yellow or pale/pallid in other languages. Basically a corpse's pallour.

These colours are also reflected in the four temperaments: sanguine (red), melancholic (black), phlegmatic (white), and choleric (pallour).

Then there's the Magnum Opus, which identifies the process philosophy of of nigredo, the blackening or melanosis; albedo, the whitening or leucosis; citrinitas, the yellowing or xanthosis; and then rubedo, the reddening, purpling, or iosis.

(I've also heard the Magnum Opus also references emerald and mercury as two major alchemical materials but I can't find evidence to back this up).

Do you know if any of this was intentional in the making of Team RWBY?

Posting this ask mostly because your research and knowledge on the matter is impressive and fascinating.

Monty had a plethora of storylines and characters designed in his head years before RWBY saw the light of day. The man was incredibly poetic and sought inspiration from every inch of the world and every crumb of experience he ever lived through. I can’t say for certain if the plague horses inspired anything, but I wouldn’t put it past him.

There were a few who pointedly voiced their opposition to the mistreatment and behavior. At least one person (to my knowledge) had been lied to when asking if I was going to be involved before signing a contract, by the very person turning red in the face to make sure I wouldn’t be anywhere near anything.

I am honored that I have inspired you in any capacity.

To be honest, things have been difficult, but I’m not unique in that experience. Despite the hardships I’ve been facing, I mustered the courage to lean on dear friends and let out my feelings to them. Allowing myself to be vulnerable and receive their supportive words has aided me in ways I can’t begin describe.

Last year, I mentored a friend’s student who went on to attend the Vancouver Film School. I began sharing more of my 3D work, too, and managed to make a friend on the opposite side of the world—even if my anxiety had me drenched in sweat terrified of being a fraud. I was welcomed into a discord community of artists, trading information and knowledge as I worked to better not only my artistic skills, but also through my social anxieties.

For many years I found myself paralyzed when holding a pen, the barrage of accusations replaying through my mind like a thorn blocking my creative expression. I’ve battled an overwhelming sense of dread and the internalized gaslighting surrounding imposter syndrome, and fought the embarrassment of losing so many years I could have spent honing my skills to the shallow words of ignorant cruelty stabbed into my back.
