For those who have played Half-Life 2, I'm sure you remember Lamarr, Dr. Kleiner's pet headcrab. This painting is a result of a brainstorming session with my husband. He came up with the idea of painting Lamarr in the style of a Victorian pet portrait and I immediately had to make it happen. One because it was so utterly ridiculous, and two because I'm pretty sure that, if given the chance, Dr. Kleiner would totally do this.

Anyway, this was done with acrylic on canvas.

EDIT: Whoa this got 1st place in the Game Informer Art contest for the April 2015 issue! They misspelled my name and I forgot to include my address so I won't be getting a prize, but it was still really cool to see this in a magazine!
