“Of course we are burning something! We have to participate. That is what makes this all so fun!”

“Oh. Shit. You shoulda told me sooner. What did you bring?”

“You know, I did that separately a few weeks ago. If only I knew about this thing.”

“Ouch,” she dramatically put a hand over her chest. “Shots fired, damn.”

“Why? Why can’t you let me have one thing? I’ll sign you up for the planning committee.”

“Uh, what are you talking about? I don’t want any part in planning this shit,” she shook her head.

“Nor I am guessing the amount of clothing either.”

“Can’t say you’re wrong,” she grinned over at him. “Oh come on, you have to admit, it was a decent joke.”

“Yes, I brought your pillow. I hope you don’t mind.” He bit back a smile. 

“Hey that’s cool, I brought your stuffed bear,” she teased back.

“So? What’s the plan for tonight? We burning something or just watching the over emotional show of people burning things they’re not actually ready to let go of?”

“My brother is here with my mom and two of the girls are off with friends. I am actually a free man. Though I might meet up with my mom and Sammy later.”

“Damn, Jordan! Look at you, freedom like that, I’d be amazed if it didn’t all go to your head,” she teased.

“Thank you. Finally someone who sees how wise I am.”

“I dunno if it was wise. It just feels like the obvious answer. They should have separated these two events.

“You know if you wanted to play twister with me, this isn’t my preferred location.”

“You leave the kiddos at home or are you on baby sitting duty tonight?”

“So what did you bring to burn? Anything fun?”

“Planning to burn any trace of our friendship?”

“Why exactly would I go out there when the booze and no children are here?”

“You know, you make a good argument. We should wait in here until after their bedtime.”

Reese: I said I was asking for a friend and you immediately assume it's me.

Reese: What would you say is a healthy amount of rewatching a tv show? Asking for a friend.

“You would jump out of a moving car? Wow you do have balls.” She noticed and moved to get in her car. “Get in then, tell me where to go.”

“If I thought you were kidnapping me yeah,” she nodded. “Death by you or death by car, I’d rather die on my own terms, ya know,” she shrugged and put the address into her phone.
