She wrinkled her nose at her brothers comment. Alright, so perhaps she didnāt really know what she was doing, though it wasnāt like she had actually considered going far enough to get lost. Sheād just wondered along for a while, some of the group still visible if she turned to look behind. āYou could always come with me,ā she drew out with a small smile and a shrug. It wasnāt an offer she really expected him to take but it was a genuine one none the less. Sure the two werenāt close but that didnāt mean she didnāt want them to be or that even if she wouldnāt admit to needing to feel better she did when he was around. āI know know what Iām doing. Iām going to look and see if thereās anything around here we can use, or if anything from the planeās turned up. I miss my notepad.ā
Roman cringed when she said he could come along. "I could." He clearly didn't want to. Though... what was his other option? Go back and do nothing over with the rest of the group. Or... walk around with his sister. Neither of them were that interesting. But he perked up a little and looked over at the beach wondering if any of his stuff had washed up either. "Yeah." Suddenly he was standing, obviously having decided that was what they were going to do and nodded. "Yeah. Lets walk along the beach and see if anything has turned up." It wasn't totally stupid to hope it had, was it? He didn't think so. "Not that any paper will have kept very well in the water. But you should ask that Allison girl. She seemed to have a few books and stuff you might want to check out."
The Early Bird || Roman & Justin
The harsh sound of another language and the following words of anger joisted Justin awake, causing him to sit up abruptly and hit his head on the top of his shelter. It shook and for a moment, he was worried it was going to fall. Eyes wide, he held his hands out to catch it just in case before letting out a sigh of relief when it decided that today would not be the day it felt. Crawling out of it, Justin groaned as the sun hit his eyes. For a long moment, he debated and moving back into his little shelter and falling asleep until help arrived. Or he was dead, whichever happened first. But, he knew that really wasnāt a choice and instead stood up, grabbing his shirt and slipping it over his head. Heād opted to sleep shirtless most nights, preferring not to wake up drenched sweat.
Yawning, he stretched and looked around. Everyone else still seemed to be asleep, expect for one dot, who was a good distance down the beach. Justin headed in the personās direction. It didnāt take him long to reach the man and he plopped down beside him with a thud. Though he didnāt know his companions name, he had seen him and the blonde build their strange bonfire-like shelter. For a moment he stayed silent before looking over at the man, āMorning,ā he greeted with a grin. āWas that you yelling earlier?ā He asked, genuinely curious.Ā
Roman had leaned his head forward against his knees brought up to his chest and let his eyes close. Almost asleep again -- almost and then not. Which was probably good because a moment later he heard a voice greeting him. Lifting his head he nodded at the other man in his own greeting, though looked less cheerful. Not in an anti-social way, in a tired way.Ā
"Yeah." Of course now it hit Roman that his shouting had probably woken other people up, but to be honest he didn't feel that badly about it. "Sorry. Did I wake you up?" It was probably clear that Roman didn't really care all that much. But it was too early to care about anything. "There's a bird sitting outside my shelter that won't shut up. I'm just... really not used to this whole out in nature thing." He lived in the center of LA, there were no birds around. No annoying song birds anyway. And before that in the middle of Moscow, again, city, no birds. "Barking dogs, and car horns, and shouting I can deal with. But one bird starts chirping and it's like a fucking alarm clock." He explained shaking his head, almost looking a amused about it briefly.
The Early Bird || Roman & Open
There were some things Roman was going to have to get used to pretty fast, he could tell. Sleeping outside was one of them. Even in the shelter him and Sasha had made -- as crappy as people said it was he was rather proud of it -- they were still outside. They were still subject to all the elements, the wind, the bugs, and the loud ass birds. It was the last thing that was causing him the most problems at the moment because all he wanted to do was sleep in until the afternoon at least, but no. The sun was just rising and there was some rude little bird perched apparently very close to their shelter chirping as loudly as it could. "Jesus Christ." He hissed giving up on sleep and climbing out of the shelter looking around for the offending bird.Ā
He couldn't find it, but it started singing it's happy little morning song again, just to spite him Roman was sure of it and he groaned. "ŠŠ°ŃкниŃŃ! You better hope I don't find you, you annoying little shit because we're all running low on food here and I never liked fish." There was a long silence that Roman was satisfied with, so he turned and started heading towards the beach because -- well there was nothing else to do. When he was about ten yards away he heard the bird start up again and he turned glaring over his shoulder. So rude. He rolled his eyes and sat down on the sand far enough away from the group and the bird to not hear anything and sighed. It was way to early for him to be awake...

Her grip on the bit of tree loosened slightly as the movement of the person heading towards Polina was far too smooth to be anything other then human and on recognising her brother her hands dropped down to her side. āŠøŠ·Š²ŠøŠ½ŠøŃŠµ, brother. I thought you were still back with themā
As Roman sat down Polina dropped the piece of wood to the floor and allowed herself to slouch slightly. āIām not scared. I just donāt fancy being eaten alive yet,ā she exaggerated rolling her eyes back at him in a similar manner before sighing. āThose people down there donāt know what theyāre doing, I wanted to go look what I could find for myself is all,ā she added as a way of explanation. It was true for the most part, sheād wanted to explore herself and while the island was fun the waiting around for someone to decide what to do was beginning to wear on her.
He watched his sister as she spoke and a skeptical sort of smile crossed his face. "And you know what you're doing?" Maybe it was because she was his little sister, maybe it was because he didn't really know her as anything other than his little sister up until last year, and it wasn't as if they had become that close or anything. But he had a hard time imagining she'd be able to handle herself -- all by herself. Not that he had room to talk. "So, you're running off to go exploring then?" Roman asked arching an eyebrow before turning to look away from Polina. Someone did need to do it... he had been completely willing to let someone else do it though. Anyone other than him. But he was thinking he'd amend that to 'anyone other than him or his sister' now.
The quiet was unnerving as Polina looked around. She still hadnāt gotten used to the lack of city noise. The mumbles of conversation from the group in the distance or the constant background noise of the sea where both foreign to her without the overlay of planes or car horns. Both sounds slowly drowned out with the ruffle of footsteps getting closer over cracking leaves. Ā āIf thereās something you wanted you could just say,ā she called out to the sound approaching from a gap between the trips. Instinctively taking a step back she lent down to pick up a large bit of tree trunk from the ground, turning back once more to face the noise.
He was so bored. Nature and the outdoors had never exactly been Roman's thing and he was starting to think this was because there was nothing to do. He didn't say this outloud though as he broke off from the main group to find something to do. He as pretty sure no one would be very interested in hearing how bored he was while there were zombies ambling about killing people. As he walked he spotted a famillar blonde head of hair through the trees and walked towards his sister, while she got ready to attack whatever was coming at her.
"God, ŃŃŠæŠ¾ŠŗŠ°ŠøŠ²Š°ŃŃŃŃ. It's just me." Roman said rolling his eyes, as he stepped over the tree trunk and sat down on it. "Maybe if you're scared you shouldn't be walking off by yourself."
"Huhā¦"
"Iāll think about it."
"Good to hear."
Salvaging Spirits || Roman&Alanna
With a heavy splash, the suitcase fell into the ocean, the sound catching her gaze. One less thing the both of them had to worry about. That is, if the thing managed to sink and not find itās way back onto shore. Laughing lightly, Alanna shook her head, slowing her pace just the slightest to allow him to catch up, looking down at the sand briefly below, kicking lightly at a rock in her path. āFigures, big shot lawyer.ā At the mention of go sees and Americaās Next Top Model, Alanna found herself rolling her eyes. āPlease, no one in the industry takes that show seriously and Tyra Banks will remain the butt of the industry. Reality television is so far from reality, itās ridiculous.ā There was little to nothing she herself really related to with the show, as a model herself. Glancing up towards Roman, she quirked an eyebrow slightly. āDidnāt take you as an Americaās Next Top Model guy.āĀ
She turned, looking up at him, swatting lightly at the rock before bending down, picking up a more darker colored rock after a moment. Winking lightly at him, Alanna reached out, taking the rock in one hand, the smaller on in the other, flipping it over, scraping the darker rock against the larger one quickly, leaving a sort of darkish mark that the both of them could clearly see. āProblem solved. Now, pick a spot and get to digging.ā Smiling slightly still, the woman gestured around them both, coming to a halt.Ā
He gave a shrug and smiled over at Alanna. "I have a younger sister. Besides, like I've said I've dated models before. Got to find them somewhere." Roman was mostly joking, of course. Though the expression on his face probably made it hard to tell.Ā He watched as Alanna marked up the rock and gave an approving nod then -- "Oh, so I'm digging. Make me do all the hard work. First I have to break open the case. Now I have to dig. Why not just make me carry you around like the princess you are while you're at it."
He said all this as he dropped to his knees and started digging anyway. Besides his complaints it wasn't as if it was really that difficult. It was mostly sand though a bit tighter packed then on the beach. Digging too deep wasn't needed if they really wanted the gun to be easily accessible enough, once he was about half a foot down he took the gun and tossed it in covering it with the sand and dirt, then the rock. Roman got to his feet and backed up a little to judge if that was a good enough job. The ground looked disturbed but it was unlikely anyone passing by would even notice unless they were looking for something that had been buried. "Ok. Good job, me. I think this will work nicely. How about you?"

"It saddens me that you think Iād be awkward."Ā
"Friends with benefits?"Ā
"As long as you don't complicate things."
"I gotta say, thatād be entertaining to watch. You struggling with wordsāmm, I wouldĀ love it.ā
"Yeah? Would you like to witness it first hand?"
"A bit slow there, arenācha?"
"Hey, I've never been one for awkward morning afters. And who knows how long we're going to be stuck here."
"Nope, never had the pleasure of going to sin city. This was supposed to be the first vacation I had in years. Some luck, huh?"
"Lawyer, huh? I bet you make good money. Iām a firefighter."
Looking over her cards, Kara smirked. āYou know, I think Iām going to let you win a few rounds, just to make it fun.ā
"God. That's one of the most unfortunate things I've heard. But hey, you can just look at this as a nice island beach getaway you don't have to pay for."
"A firefighter? That's exciting," he said letting out a short laugh and rolling his eyes. "Uh-huh. I'm sure that's what's going to happen." He put down his cards showing his three fives. "Three of a kind. What about you?"
"Weāll have to see about that."
"So how many girls have youā¦Ā charmedĀ these past few days?āĀ
"I'm a very charming person, Foster. Probably all of them. If you mean how many have I made a move on, none of them."

Salvaging Spirits || Roman&Alanna
"Exactly, a mutual spot we both will have access to that at the same time, wonāt draw anyone elseās attention." Alanna added with a slight nod of her head. The last thing she wanted to do was put her life in another personās hands. Alanna had learned long ago that if there was one person you could truly depend on, it was yourself. But, in a situation like this, there was strength in numbers. It would be borderline suicide for her to go rogue now. Arms still crossed tightly around her chest, hazel colored eyes glanced down the length of the beach. "Youāre right, we could bury that too, just in case, or toss it. Your call." Gaze returning back to the man, a light grin tugged at her lips before with a bit of a smirk, she turned left, beginning to walk, expecting Roman to follow behind.Ā
"So," she called, glancing over her shoulder for a moment, "What was life like for you?" He was just another stranger. A stranger that was funny and easy on the eyes, mind you, but a stranger none the less, one she would be trusting for the time being with their little secret soon to be buried. And frankly, Alanna liked to know her business partners. "You know, before all of this. Big time lawyer, big time clients, fancy dinners, fast cars, even faster girls?"Ā
Roman looked down at the case in his hand then out at the ocean, high tide wasn't for a good five or so hours so tossing it out now would probably mean it wouldn't just show back up on the shore. That was if it didn't sink in the first place. "Alright." He said walking a few feet away from her before throwing the case as far as he could -- which was pretty far -- into the ocean. When he turned back around he noticed Alanna already walking away which he followed after running a few steps until he was close enough behind her that he could catch up by walking.Ā
Smirking over at the woman for a moment he tilted his head slightly, in a non-committal way. "Actually, yeah. That's pretty much it." It sounded more fun in theory then it was at times. But when had Roman ever been the type of man to focus on the negative things that ever happened to him. "What about you? Being a model, must be lots of traveling and go sees...? I've been watching a lot of America's Next Top Model," he said grinning over at Alanna as they walked along the beach, and glanced down at the rock in his hand for a moment. "Are you even going to remember what this looks like?" He asked holding it up waving it in front of her face. "I don't want to lose this thing after all this..."
"ā¦And you said I couldnāt trust you to be honest."
"I just said you shouldn't count on it being a regular thing."
