Genuinely I loathe Stephen King. Probably not a hot take on this website but certainly one in some of the spaces I linger in.
He says: âwrite 1000-2000 words a day!â âDonât plot your stories, it makes them feel mechanical and fakeâ and you can really tell he does this based on his books.
IT is a contrived 441156 word story where nothing happens and no novel concepts are explored. It doesnât work as a coming of age story, the horror falls flat because you canât maintain suspense for 1100 pages, and you leave feeling like youâve wasted your time.
The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger abandons all of its interesting potential plot lines in exchange for gratuitous descriptions of violence that leave you feeling bored rather than appalled.
He only really shines in his short stories where his pantsing shines through the lack of ability to go on and on in no direction.
Itâs like babyâs first time writing. This is how I wrote in middle school, and he acts like, and is treated as a genius.
