You were alone in the house you shared with Kylian, your baby cooing on your lap, when you heard a knock on the door. You got up from the couch to open it, and saw it was Kylian’s mom. You let her in, and saw she looked a bit concerned. 

“Hi, dear.”

“Hi. Is everything alright?” you asked. 

You and Kylian had been dating for over six years now, had been engaged for one, and even an adorable one year baby boy. When the relationship had become serious, you and Kylian agreed to not go public in order to protect you - and to protect your son when he was born. Only your family, his, and his teammates knew about your relationship and the baby, and you were absolutely fine with it. Kylian’s family had been nothing but kind and welcoming to you from day one, and you were grateful. 

“Well, not really. Look at this.”

She showed you her phone. It was a pic posted on Instagram - a pic from a few weeks ago where Kylian and you had been on vacation on a yacht. You and Kylian were kissing, both in swimming clothes, and you remembered this moment very well. There were other pictures of you and Kylian hugging or just talking, probably when the baby was taking a nap, but the last pictures showed the baby in Kylian’s arms. 

“Oh, God.”

“And it’s all over Twitter, too,” Kylian’s mother sighed. 

“I don’t understand,” you said. “We were being discreet. There were no other boats around us, and we were far away from land.”

“Apparently not enough. I’m sorry, dear.”

You sighed, “What do the comments say?”

“Some said it’s just a hook-up, some understood you, Kylian and the baby are a family. But, y/n, you shouldn’t worry about what they say. I assure you.” 

“Does Kylian know?”

“Not yet,” she shook her head. “I thought we could tell him together, once he’s home from training.” 

You nodded. 

“I thought we could sue the journalist and the newspapers that posted it,” Kylian’s mom said as you were both waiting for Kylian. “They’re private pictures.” 

“I don’t think Kylian is gonna agree,” you shrugged your shoulders. “He’ll say it’s not worth the trouble.”

“What’s not worth the trouble?” a voice said. 

You and Kylian’s mom turned to see him at the living room’s door, his training bag still in hand. 

“We need to talk, honey,” Kylian’s mom said. 

Kylian walked in your direction, hugging his mom and kissing you and the baby. 

“What’s wrong?” he asked. 

His mom showed him the picture and Kylian cursed under his breath.

“Unbelievable.” 

“I know,” you sighed. “That’s not what we planned.” 

“I’ll talk to your father to ask him what he thinks,” Kylian’s mom said before leaving the room.

Kylian put an arm around you and kissed your temple. 

“It’s gonna be okay,” he said gently. “I know it’s probably scary, and I’m sorry it happened, but I promise I’ll make sure it doesn’t change anything in your life. In our lives.”

“I know. I love you, Kylian.”

“I love you, too, sweetheart.”
