Deceit: That’s sweet but try again.

Remus:

There is no sign of land

You are coming down with me

“You can’t just think one up? Isn’t that what you do here?”

“Normally, yes- but you saw what happened back in the forest. I’m fairly certain something’s wrong with the core of the Imagination right now.” He gestured widely to the open field around them. “I’ve never created this landscape before, never even seen it, so it must be from some corner of Thomas’ mind that the core could still access. I can’t put anything in that isn’t already here; we’ll just have to attract a dragon ourselves.”

Logan pinched the bridge of his nose and gave a deep sigh. (The toll the Imagination had on his poor logical brain would be obvious even if Virgil wasn’t created for vigilance.) “So what attracts dragons?” 

“Gold,” Remus offered excitedly, “and caves. And dead bodies.”

“And princesses,” Roman added, making a face at Remus, which Remus just stuck his tongue out at. 

Deceit and Logan shared a flat look. “We don’t exactly have any of those at our dispense. Unless one of you has a princess in your back pocket, of course.”

villagers ambushing the group mid-dragon attracting and interrogating them as to where they came from and why they have a random prince with them begging to call a dragon to the village

those villagers asking which of the group is the diplomat, leading to Deceit and Logan having a very brief but remarkably passive aggressive staring match that Logan concedes in because Dee has the ~charm~ for diplomacy

the villagers being very Suspicious™️ when they say their diplomat’s name is literally Deceit (followed by Virgil panicking and giving Dee a random and absolutely atrocious name on the spot)

the group getting separated in the grotto leading to the Imagination’s core, so Logan has to deal with Remus in an underground cavern covered in sharp things by himself

Deceit being afraid of a mongoose. This part is crucial because I think it’s funny

Roman being a valuable asset to the group because he knows how the vanilla Imagination works and saving the others a good few times

I’m getting too attached to this idea

A while ago I saw this pajama shirt from far away and due to the way the fabric fell and the way it was hit by the light it looked as if there was “Wake Up And Lie” written on it. Needless to say that’s not what it actually said but I immediately had the idea of drawing Deceit wearing that. So I finally did :’)
