AU in which roman has a twin, romeo godfrey. a more introverted sibling. quiet like his baby sister but his love is loud, wears it on his sleeves like his twin brother.

separated at birth, romeo was given a name by olivia right after his birth. he was handed to pryce to be disposed, killed, for he had no purpose; he didn’t have the veil over his head like his twin brother. he was not an upir.

but pryce decided to keep him out of pity, out of his own loneliness and longing of wanting to be a father. for once he wanted to be selfish, so he kept him and raised the boy in his house like his own; taught him to be guarded at all times, cunning and intelligent. romeo knew of his origin, of the white tower, of his own tragic history, the unwanted son; of his biological father and mother—his biological siblings. pryce knew better to not keep the boy in the dark, knew how unfair it would be, and gave him the freedom to roam the town if he wanted to as long as he was all covered up and careful. romeo rarely did, though. he was comfortable in the library, only ever tasted the world outside when he craved the fresh air.

which consequently, in a way, he was more familiar with motherhood than fatherhood—made him a little too sensitive. his understanding about love was a bit crooked but he was tender nonetheless especially towards his cousin and sister (though, again, still a bit ‘fucked up’ but the love was there)
