It's that time again, Wakers, Breakers, FBC coffee makers. FandomTrumpsHate is back for it's 10th iteration, and we here at Blessed Pictures are once again throwing our hat in the ring to help raise money for a good cause.
We're also going to be asking all Remedy Connected Universe fanwork makers to help us raise a little money for good causes. If you're a Remedy fan, please: consider making a lot, or consider bidding on one (or several) of your favorite fanwork artists for charity. You get a cool bespoke gift, and someone out there gets the monetary help they need. It's a win win.
As for us, this year's going to be a little different; the Editor's the one on the stage this time. He's what's called a "developmental editor", which means he works closely with me to edit every single story into something as complete as possible. I tell him the vibes of the story, what I want and what I can lose, what the "point" of the story is, and give him the raw text, and we do multiple rounds of edits to slap it into shape.
And this year, he's offering his services to anyone willing to put forth some charity cash for FTH. As with all our lots so far, you can choose the org (provided it fits the guidelines). We'll have more granular details for our lots soon, but the quick and dirty is that he can meet you where you're at for your written work, on Gmail or Ellipsus, and help you figure out your story.
This year's FTH calendar:
Monday, Jan 26th: creator signups open for both the auction and the craft bazaar
Sunday, Feb 8th: creator signups close for the main auction; craft bazaar signups remain open!
Friday, Feb 27th: browsing period begins, craft bazaar opens
Tuesday, March 3rd, 8am ET: auction bidding opens; craft bazaar signups close
Saturday, March 7th, 8pm ET: auction bidding closes
Wednesday, Mar 18th: auction donations due; craft stalls close
Thursday, Dec 31st: fanworks due
FTH has their own blog, where you can find helpful info such as their FAQ, their bidding policies, and their supported organizations list. As for us, you can see stories we've provided for bidders here.
Remedy Connected Universe means not just Alan Wake/2 and Control/2, but Quantum Break, Firebreak, Death Rally, Max Payne/2, so if you're a Remedy fanwork artist at all, you're welcome to join us. Also, the Craft Bazaar is for people who make physical gifts, like bookbinding, jewelry, etc, so if you're making anything and you want to get involved, we have a place for you.
