Maybe she did want them to be there, to just listen, but they can't just have that, can they. It's the same shit every time- it was the same with her ex, it’s going to be the same here. Pretending to give a fuck for one moment and then being hurt the next. He was just going to let the pain happen this time. They would be fine. It wouldn't be as bad, she knows that much.
Maybe if she tried more, then she would deserve it. They have a plan, though, so it would be fine.
He wore a sleeveless corset-like top, ruffles on the top and bottom of it. His skirt was incredibly flowy, with a petticoat underneath. They adorn a lot of necklaces, as well as a black zip up sweater- the same one she wore when going to see their therapist.

She sits at the bar, her skirt flowing down behind her. In her hand is some sort of cocktail.

Rand, dragging Rolan behind him, drags him into the bar, scanning the area rapidly before spotting Kian's bright hair amongst the dimmed surroundings. He rushes over to him, bumping into a few people and not bothering to apologize, and stands next to him, about to say something, but he stops.
"Holy shit," he breathes, barely hesitating, "dude, what the- you're fuckin' beautiful- what's the occasion?? It's- god, I'm just glad you're safe." He reaches to take one of his hands, but then just holds his out, trembling just slightly.
He tenses up for a second upon hearing them, before taking a deep breath and calming down. They spin around gracefully on the stool, a smile on her face. He takes Rand's hand, shaking a lot. The touch, for once, feels dangerous before it should be coming from them. He knows it's not true, but theres a chance. And it probably will be later.
As soon as their heels touch the ground, they let go of Rand's hand, moving it down to their side. He tilts his head to the left when she processes what Rand said. "There's no occasion..? Why- I- I just wore it 'cause I could."
"Hey uh- can we do reunions and admiring Kian in the car, please? Sorry." His hands are very clearly shaking.
"Yeah- yeah, sorry, man," he looks away, his face flushed and eyes wide beneath his glasses, "c'mon, let's get in the car." He begins to walk back towards the exit, beelining through the crowd again to get out of this place as fast as possible.
They grab money from their bag, paying- and leaving some sort of tip, she didn't count how much.
He dodges and weaves through the people, avoiding touching anyone.
Rolan guides the group back toward his car, biting back a million questions and praying Rand does the same. He can’t scare Kian and have him run back into the bar, because he might not know how to help right now, but if Kian’s alone, he can’t even make sure she’s alive. So he bites his tongue and opens the car door.
Rand goes to open his mouth to ask a flood of different questions himself, but he looks to Rolan and gets the hint, instead keeping his mouth shut. He makes sure Kian gets in the car before climbing in behind him, sitting next to him in the backseat.
The silence is... odd. But it's probably a good sign. Kian looks out the window, staring at the piles of snow. She hasn't ever seen snow before she got here. It's prettier than in the movies.
He's probably not going to remember this tomorrow. Fuck, he really doesn't want to deal with a hangover in front of them, but way she goes or whatever.
They are not going to break the silence, that's for sure.
Rolan grips the steering wheel tightly, finally taking a second to look at Kian. He’s beautiful, to say the least. Disheveled and disgruntled, but beautiful. And worrying. Rolan drives back to his house with practiced ease.
Rand waits until the car starts moving, and then slowly scoots his hand over until he finds one of Kian's, holding it tightly. He thinks that if he lets go, he's going to run again. He wished he would stop fucking running.
"You already making new friends?" he asks after a minute, "or were you just... drinking by yourself? In the middle of the week?"
They flinch, but still let Rand hold his hand. It's not really like they can do much except dodge if- no, when they try to hurt her again. Sure, it worked a bit for them last time, but... he should probably just accept this shit now, right?
"Just got bored." She doesn't have to tell anyone why she left. He feels weaker, like all of his body is just fucking trying to make him suffer.
His grip loosens on his hand slightly, and he instead begins to gently rub a thumb over his knuckles, just trying to make sure he stays calm. He doesn't know why Kian was out here, or why he wasn't answering any of his questions. Does he hate him? Does he not trust either of them? It made him want to panic, to freak the fuck out and scream and throw things, but that wasn't a normal, well-adjusted adult thing to do, so instead he just held his hand.
"Sorry, man." He mumbles after a bit of silence, sounding as if he's ashamed about something.
Kian tilts his head to the left. "You- You don't have to apologize. Why are you saying sorry?"
She doesn't understand, why is he apologizing? They don't have to say sorry, there's nothing to be sorry for right now.
"Just- y'know. Probably did some shit to make you upset. Wanted to apologize. 'Cause, uh... you... want to be alone a lot- do you even want to be in a relationship?" He's asking genuinely, even if it comes off harsher than he means.
"We don't- we don't have to do this, if you're like- not ready, or you don't feel like it'd work out..." he's rambling, it's obvious he's worried that Kian is going to confirm his fears.
Rolan grimaces, here. Can feel the way the air gets a little colder, knows that was the wrong thing to say. He’s got a theory, thinks he knows why Kian is doing this, and is quick to run damage control.
“I think what Rand’s trying to say is like- If you don’t want to be in a relationship right now, think you need like- time or just don’t want to or anything- You don’t have to like… we don’t have to date if you don’t want to. We’re fine either way, as long as you’re happy. We just want you around.”

Rand picks up after a couple rings; landlines don't have caller IDs, so he answers professionally, in case it's Rolan's office or something:
"Hey, man. Deep... household speaking."
"Dude, you sound like my old boss." She laughs a bit. "Uh, you called me earlier, sorry I didn't pick up, dude, I've been... busy." They hesitate before saying busy.
Almost cutting him off, Rand goes "HOLY SHIT! KIAN! Fuck, I thought you were like- hey, where are you?? Are you okay, man?" He's practically shouting, but not out of anger, just... passion? Worry? He had no reason to actually be raising his voice. He could probably be heard throughout the apartment.
"I-I'm fine man, just- just had to do shit." They stutter slightly, just out of the pure fact that they were definitely at least tipsy or something. "How are you, man?"
"Are you sure you're okay, man?? I'm just- you disappeared basically overnight, can I at least know, like, what you're doing??"
"I'm okay, dude," It's a very obvious half truth, "just got busy and shit and- and like, had to go, sorry, man." She's avoiding the question, not that shes doing anything bad at all, but just that she doesn't want them knowing where she is exactly, because of irrational fears that make way too little sense.
"But- did I do something?? Kian, I'm just worried, man, why aren't- why won't you fuckin' tell us anything??" His voice is frantic now, almost panicked.
"I- Its not anything you did, dude. I- ahm-" She really doesn't know what to say. Like, yea, they could lie, but thats too much thinking for right now. "You don't need to get involved, man." He's trying to sound at least somewhat normal- failing miserably.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN INVOLVED?" He's really shouting now, and he sounds scared.

"I don't know what to do, man, he won't, like- he won't say where he is, and he says he's drinking and he's gonna walk home??" He both looks and sounds panic, although it's harder to assess over the phone.

“I’m still scared. This isn’t California, Ki.”
"Genuinely, dude, it's fine. And if shit does go wrong, I can seduce Niklaus to bring me back, dude."
“I don’t know who that is and I- please, Kian. For me.”
"Fuck you, fine."

Rand looks up from his anxious pacing, still wide eyed.
"Are we gonna pick him up?? Fuck, hold on, I'll get our coats and your keys!" Without another word, he runs off to grab everything, just excited to see Kian safe.
She names the place, sounding more panicked than before.
Fuck. She wouldn't be able to hide any of this in time. Fuck.
“Thank you. Thank you, Ki. Be there in a sec.”
He grabs the keys from Rolan, not bothering with the coat- he’s been adjusted to Chicago weather for a while now- and runs toward the garage where his car is parked, chanting the address under his breath.

"Dude, you sound like my old boss." She laughs a bit. "Uh, you called me earlier, sorry I didn't pick up, dude, I've been... busy." They hesitate before saying busy.
Almost cutting him off, Rand goes "HOLY SHIT! KIAN! Fuck, I thought you were like- hey, where are you?? Are you okay, man?" He's practically shouting, but not out of anger, just... passion? Worry? He had no reason to actually be raising his voice. He could probably be heard throughout the apartment.
"I-I'm fine man, just- just had to do shit." They stutter slightly, just out of the pure fact that they were definitely at least tipsy or something. "How are you, man?"
"Are you sure you're okay, man?? I'm just- you disappeared basically overnight, can I at least know, like, what you're doing??"
"I'm okay, dude," It's a very obvious half truth, "just got busy and shit and- and like, had to go, sorry, man." She's avoiding the question, not that shes doing anything bad at all, but just that she doesn't want them knowing where she is exactly, because of irrational fears that make way too little sense.
"But- did I do something?? Kian, I'm just worried, man, why aren't- why won't you fuckin' tell us anything??" His voice is frantic now, almost panicked.
"I- Its not anything you did, dude. I- ahm-" She really doesn't know what to say. Like, yea, they could lie, but thats too much thinking for right now. "You don't need to get involved, man." He's trying to sound at least somewhat normal- failing miserably.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN INVOLVED?" He's really shouting now, and he sounds scared.
