☺: three things that make my muse happy

i. the coastline with its waves kissing the jagged rocks. a brilliantly colored octopus clinging to the slippery rocks as he hunts for soft-shelled crab. she sits on a large, flat boulder as it overlooks the turbulent ocean. weaving bracelets and braids from scraps of thread given to her by her governess. ii. her older brother’s smile used to be so large it rivaled the sun. aleksander! aleksander! smile for me so that we have something to smile about. they used to say. the dimple in his chin impossibly deepening. though, he saved a special smile for his youngest sister. a grin reserved for the little child when she sniffled after being scolded by their mother and her maidens. iii. her fingers are singed and swollen red from being impatient, the back of her head ringing when a solid thump meets her skull. the black berry pies, each the size of her father’s palm, bubble and steam on the kitchen table. in a few minutes, one is missing. her clothes ruined, fingers and mouth stained purple.

☢: something my muse is afraid of

Aloth just sputters. He was not expecting to come over…and have dirt in his hand. “I uh.. .is this customary I…i don’t quite understand.” Ya know fer a smarty arse yer a dumb fuck. Yer prolly gonna garden or some borin’ shite.

“I appreciate the honesty”

A QUICK DESCRIPTION OF SHOSHANA TREVELYAN: a mane of the lightest brown, sun kissed and falling in tangles of waves. during the winter her hair darkens. in the summer, the sun lightens the shade. it spills over her shoulders and stops short just below her shoulder blades. shoshana’s mother never allowed her to cut her hair. preferring to braid the once heavy curls with flowers native to ostwick. she’d come home, hair escaping from the large braid, smelling of sea water. 

a sweet pointed nose set above full lips and perfect teeth. her father once mentioned their youngest daughter had eyes the color of the deepest sea. they are large, almond-shaped eyes. even from birth they seemed too large for her face. especially when she’d inherited her fathers strong jaw and her mother’s high cheekbones. shoshana was born an amalgamation of both her parents. whereas, her eldest brother and sister took after their mother and the third sister after their father. 

a breath and the wind is strong in her lungs. the stretch of her back muscles, fingers coming to her lips. a familiar, fluid dance. on the release, the arrow escapes between her fingers. shoshana hadn’t held a bow since she was a child, yet it felt just like yesterday as the arrow buries itself at the center of the target. the university had sequestered a warm spot on the lawn for summer activities, bow and arrow among them. she holds one of the bows in front of her, made of cheaper wood and plastics. it felt rough in her hands, but a part of her was gleeful to be holding it. 

“ ━━ OH, I’M SORRY. ”  she is quickly tugged from her dreamy thoughts of ancient weapons. the dark haired woman standing near had reminded her that perhaps she’d taken up too much time at this station. “ would you like to try? ”

         🎀 → How hard could basketball be? She’d played muggle games like it before, but basketball was a new one. Besides, she was excellent at Quidditch, how hard could it be? Apparently very difficult for someone who appears to have two left feet when not relying on her broom and flying skills. One minute the ball was in her hands, the next she tripped over her own shoelace and the ball was now hurtling towards an innocent bystander. “LOOKOUT!” Roxanne called out to unfortunate stranger. 

“They say if you talk out loud while you look for something, you find it faster. That’s a load of crap because not only have I not found it but I look stupid now”

Jane had ran out of whiteboard space as she was working out her latest theory, moving over toward the window with her erasable marker she finished up the thought on the upper right panel.  “Well this is just stupid.” She groaned taking a cloth to her work.  She was in between classes, and had been working on a new theory about how she arrived in this town.  “Come on Jane, you’ve solved harder problems then this.”

Varric scoffs, and attempts to dust off the glitter he’d suddenly been coated in. “Next time, those magicians should really pick on someone their own size. I could drown in this stuff.”

how long has your character been here:

a few short weeks, but to her -- it’s been a lifetime. a myriad of faux memories that are often interlaced with the real ones. memories of temples and mirrors, demons forcing their way through tears in the world. 

where has your character been pulled from in their fandom:

a short time after corypheus’ defeat, his dragon defeated and a new divine chosen. shoshana readies herself for a life without the inquisition. or, a life less full of peril. 

what is your character’s job:

coming from a relatively wealthy political family living in seattle, shoshana lives in a well off neighborhood in the city of d.c. partly relying on her parents money and partly relying on the odd jobs she can handle. she had come to washington on her parents request, hoping to force her into making a choice. school or the military.

has any magic affected your character:

shoshana herself is a rogue, but her world is full of magic. much of which has affected her. the mark on her left hand manifests itself as darker blue veins up her arm. it still has the ability to close rifts, but she’s unaware of this fact. shoshana still doesn’t know what makes the veins in her arm show like that. and she doesn’t know it’s killing her.

any other information:

a quick little blurb about shoshana. the trevelyans are a pious family and are heavily intertwined with both the templars and the chantry. all of the trevelyan children are raised as devout andrastians. that’s how i’ll be playing my inquisitor. she always put her faith first. her older sisters are both in the chantry and her eldest brother before his death had been a templar. before the conclave, shoshana trained as a rogue. specializing in bow and arrow, as well as poisons ( but this was done in secret ). her parents had sent her to the conclave with an ultimatum. either join the chantry like her sisters or use her skills to aid them. she wasn’t sure if she wanted either, but shoshana never had a chance to choose.
