Wondering through Castow, Quant lurked around the spawn point of the second floor until they saw the cubi. "Hey," They greeted them, "Emeline, are you going on the quest?"
[3/26/17, 12:53:40 AM] the golden archer: Whom she'd quest with, she really had no idea. After reading it over and over again, she only realized how incredibly nervous she was about it all. It sounded frightening but she wasn't going to let it bother her or at least show that it would. Her hands were starting to sweat and she breathed deeply. Wringing her hands together, she stared out at the world in front of her. There was no way she'd be able to do this alone.
As she heard someone's voice behind her, Emeline found her face lighting up. "Quant!" Turning to face them, she shrugged. "I'm thinking about it. I'm a little scared though and not sure who I trust."
[3/26/17, 3:13:19 AM] m.j.: "O mijn god," Quant exhaled the words in a rush, "I'm glad to see you. I hadn't heard from you. I had hoped you were still around." It was sometimes assumed that when people went AWOL they had died somewhere else in the game, either grinding or questing. "Ja, this one is... It feels different. Bigger, somehow." They weren't sure how to explain it. After seeing the ruins and hearing the local's stories, it made the game feel even more real. Like they were being told to go into a war zone to investigate previous crimes. "Would you quest with me? I've been to the ruins. I was hoping to find someone, y'know..."
[3/26/17, 10:25:37 AM] the golden archer: A smile rested upon her face, glad they'd managed to get out of there alive and hadn't been hurt anywhere. Emeline couldn't imagine what she would've done if she'd found out Quant hadn't made it. After that grinding and trying her best to stay alive, she'd was glad she had the chance to see them again. "Either this is going to be great, or it's going to suck, majorly," she stated, chuckling lightly. When Quant asked if she wanted to quest, Emeline's face practically lit up as she nodded. "I'd love to. We'd probably actually work really well together. I went once, but I don't remember much."
[3/26/17, 2:47:49 PM] m.j.: "I'm hoping for a healthy middle ground; every quest has moments of suck, kind of inevitable." Quant had been slowly raising their stats. It was a long process, one which they had started late, so they knew the struggle well. "Ja, we made a good team, didn't we?" They felt their spirits lifting. "I think we could do this together." Quant pulled up their quest info and sent a request to Emeline. "So is there anything you need before we figure out where to go? I know the destination is to the west, over the sea."
[3/26/17, 8:30:49 PM] the golden archer: A light laugh slipped through her lips as she nodded. "You bet your ass we do," Emeline said, grinning. She'd had a good time with them. Even though they'd been worrying for their lives, she knew that with them, she'd be okay. The girl trusted Quant. Accepting the quest, she checked her sides, making sure her weapons and anything else she needed was there. "I'm all set, you?" Her head moved toward the west, pointing. "Let's head toward that way and we'll wing it from there. It can't be that hard, I hope."
[3/26/17, 8:39:27 PM] m.j.: Quant noddee with a laugh. To them, questing with someone they trusted was more important than a stranger with high stats. "I think I'm good. I have everything." They lookef where she had gestured. "Sure; getting there should be the easy part, but we need to get a ship across, somehow."
[3/26/17, 8:44:50 PM] the golden archer: Emeline turned to face them, a smirk growing across her face. With a playful bounce, she giggled, lightly. "I think with a little flirting, we could absolutely find us a good ship, a very pretty and fast one," she said, knowing it would be quite a lot of fun to do so.
[3/26/17, 9:19:12 PM] m.j.: A burst of laughter escaped them but they nodded in agreement while trying to recover from the moment. "That's right, you're a cubi. I'm sure we could flirt the hell out of any sailor. What's your charisma? I'm at six." Quant gestured towards where they needed to go and started walking. "No better time than the present, I suppose."
[3/29/17, 1:12:56 AM] the golden archer: Emeline couldn't help but giggle. One of her favorite things about being a cubi was flirting. She liked to think she was pretty good at it. Perhaps a lot of it was that she was very confident with whom she was. "It's about a seven, I think? I don't even know.. I should keep better track but even then, Â I mostly tend to use the fact that I have long legs. Your eyes are gonna work wonders for you, you know," she stated as they started to walk. Turning to face Quant, she looked at their eyes. Yeah, she could definitely see it. Hopefully they were going the right direction. They'd start seeing progress soon.
[3/29/17, 1:20:42 AM] m.j.: Quant peered down at the cubi's legs and gave an appreciative nod and a teasing whistle. "Ja, your legs would do the trick." They hadn't expected the compliment. They gave a laugh and shook their head. "O nee, don't think so. I'll just try charming them or something." The walk to the nearest port wouldn't be long at the pace they were going. Quant pointed out fixtures or landmarks while they walked, remarking on what it may have reminded them or what it looked like. Within a few short hours they could see the ocean on the horizon, and a speck on that horizon was their destination, the sea port.
[3/29/17, 1:23:42 AM] the golden archer: A blush crept across Emeline's face. She always loved compliments, but now, every time anyone said anything, she got nervous. Perhaps she was really losing her marbles. "Thank you." Tilting her head to the side, she pouted. "Why not? You're really attractive, you know." There was a lot going on past them and hearing Quant point out what they were was rather fascinating. She was learning so much and for that, she really was grateful. Emeline didn't always pay attention, especially not when she could be focusing on making herself quicker or something. Upon seeing the ocean, her eyes widened. "Oh my. That is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. How have I never seen that?" she asked, running toward it, taking a deep breath. "Oh! And it smells good too!"
[3/29/17, 1:28:34 AM] m.j.: The blush that rose high in Emeline's features surprised them; how was she embarrassed? She's the one who had drawn the attention to her attractive features. "Graag gedaan," Quant smiled. "Eh, I'm sure I could leave the flirting to you and we'd be more successful." They watched with surprise as the cubi rushed eagerly towards the sea. "Wat? Ever? Or just this ocean?"
[3/29/17, 1:43:38 AM] the golden archer: Emeline never really thought about compliments or what they meant. Sure, she was cocky, but it was always because she figured that's what she should be, not because she really believed it. A light chuckle slipped her lips as she nodded. "If you'd like." Shaking her head, she bounced up and down with excitement. "Ever. I've never seen it. I've been up north my whole life and no one ever showed it to me."
[3/29/17, 2:03:11 AM] m.j.: "Ja, I'll leave it to you. Consider me the backup." The sea was a bright blue, swirled with dark spots and white caps seen even from here. Quant knew that meant the waves had to be ginormous. "I've heard locals call this the 'Sea of Dread'. Sorry your first ocean visit is to the one known for its storms." They continued walking, the immensity of the sea getting larger and larger, expanding beyond what the eye could see. "The port doesn't look far now. We should make it before sundown."
