It blows my mind how many men will see the struggles their mother went through due to their fathers behaviour, but grow up and treat their own wife exactly the same way. They’ll see first hand how sexist gender roles and cultural expectations caused their mother a lot of suffering, they’ll be aware of their fathers lazy and entitled attitude, they’ll feel sorry for the hardship their mother went through growing up. But when they get married they don’t make any conscious effort to be a better husband than their own father was. They carry on the same backwards mindset, there is no self awareness or improvement. Baffling and sad. As though your own wife is not the mother to your children, and doesn’t feel the same pain your own mother did.

i’m annoying (self diagnosed)

Every single relationship will get “boring” after you’ve been together for ages. Love isn’t a feeling, it’s a commitment; to love every day, physically and emotionally. It’s hard afff, it’s not always laughs and smiles and fun. People tend to quit when it stops being cute. “Oh the spark is gone.” No, that’s not how it works. You want somebody to never give up on you and love you unconditionally? Do the same. This isn’t Hollywood, this isn’t romantic happy ever after bs. Love someone when you don’t want to, when they are being a fricken asshole. When they’re being hard to love. That’s thats the realist shit there is.
