a thing about me is i basically never notice a wig or other kind of hairpiece in tv/movies. it has to be party city territory for me to even twig it. people will complain about characters' wigs looking bad and i will nod along but there is like a 90% chance i did not notice for a second while watching. i consider this mostly a blessing.

Also just a handy, DIY air filter in general, if a bit bulky. For a less bulky and cheaper (but also less effective) solution, you can simply tape one filter to the fan, cut a shroud if you'd like.

just FYI, this is quite literally what the climate scientists at my work who specialized in wildfire smoke impacts recommend. it works great, it's cheap to make, and it will make a noticeable impact on your air quality.

i have asthma & keep one of these running in my room perpetually. after I set it up the difference in my sleep quality was pretty much night and day. Dont waste your time on proprietary air filters; SIMPLY bust out the duct tape

Sometimes I'm like "Ryland Grace is important #representation for those of us whose dissertations are kind of stupid and bad" and while I am mostly joking, I'm serious when I say it's actually really important to me that he was not proven right. His theories about non-water-based life did not pan out and were never vindicated. ("The Goldilocks Zone is for Idiots" is also clearly in support of this argument, it's not a standalone argument about life in extreme temperature ranges, it immediately registered to me as part of the "you are being limited by your reliance on imagining water-based life" argument, Eridians living at superheated ammonia temperatures does not really "prove him right".) Like obviously you can't prove a negative, of course - there's no way to know if there is or isn't some other non-water-based life out there - but he was not proven right. He was not vindicated in the Eyes of Science. And he keeps discovering cool new things anyway. You live and you learn and you're not always right and That's Fine. Your life is what you make it. You don't have to be married to the One Big Idea you had in grad school. And sometimes you're not right the first time but that doesn't have to be the end of it all for you. Sulking about it does not make you happy or fulfilled, exploring new things makes you happy and fulfilled. And there are always new things to learn. Moving on, exploring new things and being open to new experiences, that's the way to live.

The thing about the whole Tassel Situation (head in my hands) is that it is the kind of thing you can imagine that traumatized loner kid they found in the woods doing of his own volition.
