“Oi, what was it you had to say to me?” Bella snarled at the other as she knocked down a drink. “Fuck off.”

“I said where have you been lately?” Rodolphus said with contained anger, she had been acting weird lately and he was getting angry over it.

Gideon coughed in order to hide the laugh. nodding firmly at the other man’s displeasure. “Of course, I’ll take it round back and get the kitchen staff to fix this up for ya.Right away”

Rod raised an eyebrow and watched the Prewett do his job, though he was very wrong if he thought he was going to eat anything he gave him. He looked around he was only here to observe really. It had been wring of him to order anything.

Lucy heard Rod’s voice before she could place it. He’d been older than her and certainly they’d only spoke when forced. “Er…,” She stepped forward, moving with a sheepish caution. Lucinda pointed vaguely to the order set in front of him. “I can take that one if you’d like.”

“That would be good yes, and please bring something that isn’t bad.” He said raising an eyebrow. This is what he got for coming to this type of places, but it was for a reason.

Dorcas didn’t bother raising an eyebrow or putting on a cheeky attitude. Rodolphus Lestrange wasn’t worth the energy and in a proper world, he would be in Azkaban or dead and her parents would be sending her an owl just about now. “It’s n o t wrong, in fact there’s no details, you came to a tea shop, you ordered tea, you got tea,” she said impatiently and crossed her arms over her colorful apron, her wand dangerously tucked into the knot of her hair. “I can’t give your galleons back just because you don’t like that particular brew. If you want another, you can order another, and I can bring out all the cream and sugar you like.” 

“I don’t want my galleons back” He said bored, he didn’t care about them, he had more galleons that he needed. “But this thing is a poor excuse for tea, I doubt any of the other brews will be better.”

“You must have me confused with someone else, Mr. Lestrange. This has nothing to do with me if it did it would not be done so poorly. Ask one of your grunts to fix this mess.”

Rodolphus looked at his future sister in law and sighed “Did you saw who did it then?”

Bellatrix watched Rod regretfully leave her side. Her hand finding his to get one more touch before he left. Giving him the ghost of a smile she waived her hand and her door shut behind him. It was hard to get any work done. Bella went over each ingredient in her head. Steak au poive a bordeaux outstanding potatoes and a gorgeous salad…she was intent upon making a statement. A show of it that she could indeed cook. And well. It was obvious Bellatrix never went half way not with anything. She went the full extreme and she was good at anything she put her mind to. Apparating to her kitchen at the end of the work day she started in on spells, pans, pots, utensils all floating to their specific locations. And just as it rounded seven nearly everything was finished, except for her hair, make up and designer clothing. Her bedroom was just as pristine. All white, yet hints of green and black littered the blank space. Accents of burgundy curved through the penthouse. Twisting her hair expertly and applying a touch up of make up Bella tugged on matching lingerie and topped it off with a stunning emerald dress. Despite how others might feel about the Black sister, there was no denying she was beautiful. When she heard a familiar knock on the door she called out, “It’s open,” and as he made his way inside the bottle of wine was pouring itself and the two plates sat waiting at her glass dining table. “I hope you’re hungry,” she spoke as she stepped out from the hallway facing him. 

Rod stepped in and smiled at her “You look gorgeous.” He said honestly getting closer to her and kissing her cheek, if this was how married life was going to be, then he really could get used to it. “I really am, and i’m very excited to finally taste your food.” He had known she knew how to cook, something not many of the girls in their society did, and this was the first time he get to try it.

“My home is yours Roddy, come over whenever you’d like,” she looked at him with her large, deep chocolate hues. Bella let a sigh escape her lips feeling his fingers through her hair instantly calmed her. Her fingertips traced along his chest. Kissing along the underside of his jaw and lingering at his neck. “Italian, maybe? Maybe French? How’s half past seven?”

“I think french would be good tonight.” He said as he closed his eyes enjoying her lips on his neck. “I’ll be there at that time then” Rodolphus was a very punctual man and actually got annoyed easily when people were late, besides he didn’t want to make Bella wait.

Bella brought her dress back over her shoulders. Tilted her hair to the side and zipped the back easily. Turning to face him she ran her fingers through his mess of dark hair tugging at them as she brought his lips to hers for a long, lingering kiss. Biting down on his lip harsh she grinned. “Mmm, I can still taste you,” she smirked before pulling herself from him. Exiting first she reached for a drink unattended on a dresser beside her. Turning over her shoulder to him it was obvious they had been a bit…loud with all the eyes now on them. “Thirsty?” She asked handing him the drink. 

He chuckled and stepped out, not caring about the eyes on him, everyone here knew better than to say something to them, simply because of their last names but also they did have a reputation, they wouldn’t be in the inner circle by being nice people. “Thank you.” He smiled as he took the drink.

Bella thought about opening her mouth. Saying the words she was so scared to admit. She had already said them to Cissa. Her lips parted, yet nothing expelled. “I’m glad you like them…I had Mr. Burke create them especially for you.” She stated trailing her fingertips along the dark mark on his forearm. “I..” she started thinking about a wedding it had never been something she spent time on or gave a second thought to but her parents had been asking, nearly nagging, begging for the two to finally make it bound. “I’ll see you this evening?” She asked. Bella’s home was as cold as she was. White starkness with a modern flair. A beautiful skyline of the city and an even more perfect view of the minister’s office. “Shall I cook?”

“Yes, at what time do you want me to come over?” He asked as he ran his fingers through her hair, it was nice being like this with her. Rodolphus wasn’t good with emotions, his father teaching him from a very early age to conceal things and not show things, especially love and pain because those were signs of weakness, yet he wasn’t an idiot he knew there was something here. “If you feel like cooking, what do you have in mind?”

Rod finally finished fixing his clothes and his hair, looking at the mirror for a second to make sure he looked as proper as when he arrived. “I suppose we must get back, they must be missing us.” 

Bellatrix. It echoed in her ears, he rarely used her full name. Usually it was Bella, or that Merlin awful Trixie she hated. But never was it Bellatrix coming from his lips. Turning she faced him pressing her body to his, her eyes found his perfect, deep, clear gaze. Thumbs ran along his cheeks taking in the curve of his visage. “Thank you,” she spoke softly but it told everything she needed to say. She was serious with him, she was honest with him, and it terrified her. Sitting there for a moment she then gently slipped from him finding her designer purse she tugged out a small burgundy velvet box. “I’ve been holding onto these..” she looked over at him. “I figured, if I have to wear your ring…you might as well wear something from me.” Inside the box were two perfectly gorgeous silver cuff-links with the slytherin snake design, each holding a gorgeous emerald as the snake’s eye. 

Rod smiled as he took the cufflinks, he wasn’t big on getting or giving presents if he was being perfectly honest but this was a special case, and they were truly great. “Thank you.” A rare thing coming for him too.  He quickly took the cufflinks he was wearing already off and put on the new ones. “They do look pretty nice.”

“Shame,” she sighed slightly as she looked at him. Though a ghost of a smile found its way to her lips. If he wasn’t easily killed, perhaps they could have more than fleeting moments together as this war built. It was foolish to think they would both make it out alive but one had to hope. There had already been so much death. So much carnage, and the Order had yet to really organize. “Do you see me weak now?” She asked, looking up at him, knowing he had seen her much worse as the two were children. 

“I would never see you as weak Bellatrix, you are easily the strongest woman I know, even at your lowest.” And he had seen her in so many different ways, from a child getting hurt when they were kids, to her sitting triumphantly after doing good on a mission.She could drive him nuts, he could get so angry with her, but he would never see her as a weak person.
