Danger Steven
Steven has recently been going through some major issues and most importantly personality changes. In the latest episode, I noticed that the diamond's powers changed to the opposite of what they were, like how Blue makes people happy or how White can be manipulated by the user instead of her. Stevens powers are also changing, in the recent fight with jasper his walls are beginning to change into a more harming version. At first, he was able to form bubbles and heal but what if his powers become a danger? He’s beginning to lose self-restraint because Jaspers shattering and his powers are slowly changing to hurt those around him even if he didn’t want to. Similar to Pink going from damaging to healing, Steven is doing the opposite.
What if next time, he won’t be able to hold back and loses himself entirely?
A therapist needs a Therapist
There are a lot of people judging and criticizing steven for not looking or accepting help. These people don’t know how hard it is to accept that help and sometimes from the same people who have hurt you before. In my case, I can relate to Steven a lot because of the fact that I needed help but I didn’t want it because I was always the one fixing. I never needed to be fixed is what I thought. It takes time to realize and accept that things are not okay and that we may be victims of what happened. Steven isn’t broken but steven is scared to accept help because it would mean that something isn’t right and that things are not perfect. I think that’s what we most fear, we fear to have to accept the truth that we are not okay, because if we’re not okay then what are we?
Steven desperately tries to find help but doesn’t accept it out of fear, fear that it won’t work and he won’t get better. All his past grudges and trauma is starting to swell up and eventually it will burst. Steven most of his life has lived fixing the issues of everyone else, no one considered how he felt or how this was going to affect him in the future. Everyone else is happy because he has been carrying their problems and it’s relieving and great for everyone else who is not Steven. Steven isn’t being stubborn or turning bad, he’s reacting how he was supposed to since the beginning. Nothing in his life was normal and from a very young age instead of learning how to be happy, he learned how to find everyone else's happiness. When he tried to kill White Diamond, that was him trying to get back at someone who hurt him in the past because by getting rid of White he would get rid of the trauma that she caused him, that is wrong.
The first step for steven to get better is for him to accept that he is not okay, and that’s alright. Because no one is.
