YEP, YEAH... PINK DELTARUBE

ok to wax poetically for a bit since like. idk this picture in a weird way means a lot to me: This started out just as a little test. I wanted to draw anime eyes, so i doodled a character around that. then as i started to fill out the body i started to feel…weirdly attached to her. I imagined her at a parking lot on an overcast day ( a common visual for me to meditate on for some reason) and i sort of felt something. Realizing since it's my drawing and i can do whatever i want i decided to just go off and draw that, and then the piece started to tell a story. to me at least. This girl isn't real. But she represents something real. Like, this situation, this memory being reflected on 20 years after the fact is sort of representative to me for people you used to know but now exist as half memories. For me I knew a lot of people (especially friends of my sisters) who i knew fairly well as a kid would hang out with, older teens, and i cannot rememebr the names of most of them, or quote a single thing theyve said, but their vibe, the way they acted the way they looked, they sort of like stick in my brain. Her sort of style and the name of the piece 'anime.png' is supposed to bring to mind like, this sort of crossover of fiction and reality. This liminal fleeting moment of something truly indescribable and beyond any sort of logic. This normal enough looking girl something about her felt dreamlike, it felt like a scene from a movie. This event left an impact on the narrator, and it's hard to say why.
