‘ i don’t suppose you’ve come to apologize, then? ‘ 

“ and what would those be?” as simple question, but then again, cain doubted that his own ‘version’ of pleasures would be allowed to exist for long. if it was one thing he knew for certain… it was that nothing lasted. well, somethings did, but a majority didn’t. “pleasure doesn’t last long. at least around me.” in his mind, he’s tried, and all he managed to achieve was failure.

sure, his title - name rather, was just for show, but at the same time, he didn’t care. it was something that he had fought for and wasn’t about to give up. even if it was dangerous… he could handle it. well, he thought he could at least. “just because you leave doesn’t mean it ceases to exist.” his words didn’t come out exactly like he wanted, but then again, it didn’t matter much in his mind, “things change.”

Lucifer never cared much for hell. Lesser beings had trouble wrapping their minds around the fact the devil didn’t care for hell, but the truth is that the place formed around him in every sense, much like debris accretes around the stars giving shape to planets and moons. And for the last ten billion years he paid no mind having the hordes of demons accumulate at his feet, but the novelty did wear off eventually and the rest is history. “Aphorisms are not the best way to get my attention. And Lux is definitely not a hell franchise, so you’d be wise to leave the brimstone at the door.” If this child comes with underworld problems, he’ll have to settle for a Martinii, perhaps. Lucifer never grew tired of making it clear that his current endeavor is owning a bar and enjoying the City of Angels. Whether people believed it or not was none of his concern.

“Don’t flatter yourself, Congressman.” Lucifer exuded nonchalance in his words, although it always amused him how people came in flocks to his bar and of course, he patiently took his time to give little crumbs of attention to them. This only made this exception stand out like a sore thumb. “Although you did catch my eye”  After all, Lucifer loved the sin and the sinner. “I am here to deal with more pressing matters.” Specifically the one about the new zoning laws and Lux’s location as real estate. Granted, he could just will these nonsensical laws into not being, but where’s the fun in being the devil himself and not playing devil’s advocate?

“tried that before.” well, he had attempted it once, and all he received in return was harsh laughter. to do so again would only result in something much worse than amusement. then again, he wasn’t about to dare try again - at least directly. more to the point, he didn’t want to risk their ‘creative’ punishments – something he though they had, but never first hand experienced. “—-ever tried talking to a wall? you’d get more response out of that.”

Of course Lucifer knew he tried so. He had no need to pry into the revenant’s mind to know that. Simple logic would dictate such decision-making, really. It is known that time distills the might of most beings. This wretched man could play safe and maybe play his cards again from a position of strenght, but Lucifer knew waiting until Betelguese bursts into a supernova or the moons of Uranus collide into each other in a million years wasn’t a truly viable option. “And now you’ve come to me.” Naturally; as Lucifer figured before taking a cigarrete from his suit’s pocket and lighting it up. “I hope your plan is smarter than trying to annoy me into ending your existence.”

“Prince of Hell, you say? My, how fast things have changed since I left.” It wasn’t an aristocracy, for instance. Lucifer never cared much for whatever form of rule developed there, seeing as the place almost ran itself. It was, however, a corageous step, taking on that name. Not that he lauded that, but it caused a certain curiosity on the Morningstar. 

No introduction was needed. People with ancient spells and hexes hanging above their heads like big, uncouth neon signs were not an unusual sighting at Lux. The magic that kept this man up and running was crude, but potent. Alive isn’t exactly a word that applies to his case, but seems to be the term most creatures on this realm would have a basic grasp of. The balm of unbeing must’ve dangled in front of this man’s eyes like a carrot and yet there wasn’t a single thing this man could do about it. Lucifer on the other hand, had the means but not an interesting proposal... Yet. “If this is about death, yours is none of my concern. I suggest you try to plea with the gods that cursed you.”
